Can you tell me what kind of GPU you have, as I only have Nvidia cards and have had a report of someone else seeing what I do on AMD cards.   Perhaps a Cuda / CL drivers messing something up etc.

CPU only.  One "slot" that is 8 threads (8 core 16 thread core 5800G Ryzen APU).

That's it.  Nice and simple is all I got!

Most commonly using Linux (Mint) Brave Browser (Chromium based), with shields off (so privacy protections/blocks disabled for the site).  All latest versions as of last night.

are you folding on the GPU? have you tried the GPU vs CPU to see which gets more points? Asking for a friend named bob...hes thiking about swapping cpus as he has a 5700g that well the GPU dont work as the ASROCK server MB doesnt provide enough power for the GPU to enable...and a 2600 in a chassis that he has ram incoming for...

The GPU portion can, for about 20 minutes, get almost the same output as the CPU folding.  Then it throttles hard, presumably from heat.  If you GPU fold at the same time as CPU fold on this chip, output goes from about 300k ppd down to about 40k ppd.  APU GPU trash for folding.  Runs most games pretty ok at 1080 under linux though.

ok so not worth the swap and possible down time.  i bought the 5700G because it was on sale in black friday and was like i wanted to upgrade my server to a 5000 series so i could run win 11 based os's as i had a 1500 in it.  yes i run win 11 as a server lol as it can get it cheaper than server 2023 lol and cna customize it for what i need mass stoage and easy backup

I just wish we could ditch windows entirely for servers.  Unfortunately several of the things I'm attached to require MS SQL server and Win Server as a back end to run their applications.

 

My own servers are all linux (like the folding one mentioned) though.  5800g also undervolts for efficiency like a madman.

yeah i tried unraid and the VM integration was iffy and didnt trust it then i got my hands on some unlisted ssds and would have had to pay more to upgrade unraid.  so decided to revert back to windows. thought about ubuntu server but was having weird issues with it so gave up quickly

@LAR_Systems has all the stats on his page GPU Folding@Home PPD Overall Ranks Database (lar.systems)

 

depends on the Varient. there are many do pay attn some dont have fans...and can be a Pain to make work in a desktop

Depends on which Tesla cards. Throw the model number and "ppd" into your search engine of choice, and a page about the card on Lar Systems will probably be on the first page.

 

In general they'll be roughly the same as a comparable GeForce from the same generation. TechPowerUp makes this easy to cross reference; it will list all the other GPUs based on the same die as the one you're looking at.

 

For example, if you're looking at a Tesla M40, that's basically a GTX 980ti.

Maybe you're trying to fold a fitted sheet?  Did you remember the team ID?

Make sure you're folding for the LTT team, 223518, not the default team.

When I read the FAQ on the site, it says probably only pulls the data for the top 20,000 account (which is understandable, or I may get it wrong)

Yes i googled nose names and came across it and thought that was funny…

When my wife was pregnant with each of our three girls, we didn't find out the gender of any of them prior to birth. So as to not refer to any of them as "it", we would refer to each by a name that we would NEVER name a kid in real life. The first one was Oscar. The second was Snuffleupagus/Aloysius (that's Snuffy's actual first name!). And our third was called Grover 

 

P.S. No offense to any of you that may be named Oscar, Aloysius, Grover, or Snuffleupagus! WE didn't want to name any of our kids those names, but YOU are awesome and I love your name!
