The projects pay differently for similar compute time??? 😅 Maybe i should filter the projects? (Einstein@home)

@miker07 Do you know if it's best to run 2 tasks per GPU on Einstein for a 3060 Ti? I have a A40 running now doing 2 but I haven't switched over my two 3060 Ti's and 6800 XT yet. Can make a profile for my 3060Ti/6800XT for 1 task per GPU if that is best.

I tend to run 1 task on nvidia and 2 on amd. I haven't tried on a 360ti specifically, but 3090 does slightly better with 1 same with 4090.

It's still insane to me that my 6-year-old consumer motherboard can do this with a simple BIOS update

FYI: For those who plan to run Einstein on their gpu's, I would get some tasks downloaded in advance of it starting, as their servers tend to struggle. That way your gpu's won't be sitting idle while waiting for the server to catch up. Probably hold of on releasing bunkers right away too, just to spread out the server load.

Yep, I remember in one former BOINC Pentathlon that their work unit server legit went like belly up because it just could not take all the requests.

When the Numbers event is done I was planning on keeping my CPU on YoYo and switching the GPU to Einstein on a few rigs. But I don't see a way to only run GPU WU's in Einstein or any other settings that I can see.  Or is it best to just go all in on Einstein?

Does Einstein have multiple work units like numbergrid or are we good to run anything we are given, couldn't register for the other one so bunkering Einstein a little until tomorrow morning

Personally, I'm still waiting for results to be validated from a couple more projects in Einstein, having said that if they take too much longer i will be filtering projects to only receive (MeerKAT) WU's based on points granted and run time. It would seem more users are getting (MeerKAT) WU's based on validation time thus far, for me anyway.

Just to add, I'm GPU only!

I'm now switching to (MeerKAT) only on Einstein, in the time other projects have been pending validation (1-2 hours) I've had 6 WU's from that project validated. So i will bunkering those on my Nvidia Rig for now.

Numberfields we've slipped to 3rd from 2nd.  A reminder that Numberfields with half decent CPUs is actually quite good.  I find them to go surprisingly quick on really old (2008/2009) Xeons for whatever reason (they're 5-6x faster at NumberFields per core task than my 4980HQ at roughly same clock speeds).  I've got some minor bunkering going on with an offline system processing that will probably show up tomorrow, though I'm not a huge producer, along with a couple that completed while starting Einstein bunkering on my only GPU system.

Hmmm, stares at main rig; stares at old GTX960.

If there is room, hail Mary it.  GTX960, time for ya to crunch ya life away again!  In honor of Hertz!!!!  (if wondering, he is the chap that was my mentor and got me into F@H/BOINC).  This the little 960 he gifted to me to use in OCN's F@H team event in the past (not sure if they still do it over there).  Time for this GPU to crunch again if I can shove it into something.

Wake time little GPU.

Yes, I smack a darn AIO on a 960.
