EDIT : Dude, you're 200k points behind me and you're making twice as much PPD as me...you've probably already done it in the gap between when the stats were collected and the blog went up

Well, it's just you and I...we'll both catch up to, and pass, #73, the group starting with @NetoriusNickis too far ahead for both of us provided they keep producing and there are 5 days more to go. I'm going to turn on the 1070 for a day or two to defend against a possible upset from @Pritskyon the last day

Was looking at yesterday's stats.

 

Lesson learned: 

Pick up malfunctioning hardware cheap and get it working again.

Got those 1080s for essentially $50 each.

These were from a guy who ran sli 1080's and had them lying around from when one of them stopped working. Upgraded to a 3080 and then was selling them as $100 each, one didn't post, offered to give to me to try to fix instead of putting it in the e-waste bin. 

Gave it a real good cleaning, some cleaned up goopy paste, and then it took about 45sec-1min to post. From what came off of the back: I suspect the culprit was vape juice nicotine since a few solder joints had something a little bit yellowish and mildly tacky.

I paid pretty much the same (after tax) in CAD for my RX 5600XT in Jan or Feb 2021

I finished building New Year's 2021, right before everything got stupid expensive,got the 480 for $135, was "worth $350" no more than 2 months later.

im sorry to say that bar a curse of power outage, or dead hardware (knocks on wood) My production should only increase as my house gets colder.

I've been pretty busy over the past few days, but knock on wood all four GPUs I'm currently using are working fine. I've got two RX 570s folding in one machine, and I've got an RTX 2070 and an RTX 3080 folding in another. My PPD has gone back up on the 2070/3080 machine, and I'm folding on both cards without issue. The only downside right now is that the 2070 is very loud, but I have plans to address the cooling in the future. 

 

On the bright side, I've even managed to OC the 3080 and the 2070, and they're both stable. The 2070 is running with a +121 MHz OC, and the memory is also slightly overclocked as well. The 3080 is running at +110 MHz, and I'm very surprised that it's stable. This 3080 is the card that I'll be returning to Gigabyte for a replacement soon, and normally it crashes all over the place. It's been alright for the past few days though, so I'm hoping it stays running for the rest of the event. I also have the memory on the 3080 overclocked a bit, but I don't want to push it too much. 

 

With a slightly overclocked 3080 and 2070 my main desktop is getting just shy of 10M PPD, and my office PC (dual RX 570s @ stock) is getting around 600K-700K PPD. I'm planning to bring both of my Quadros (M4000, P4000) back online tonight, so my PPD will go up a little bit more for the rest of the event. 

 

Last thing: unfortunately it doesn't look like I'll be getting my new Precision in time for the end of the event. The eBay seller has generated a tracking number, but so far it hasn't been shipped yet.
