Yes, I'm finally getting back on track! I managed to get 11.5M points today with most of my hardware remaining crash-free.

1080 is up and running, estimating 1.2-1.4m PPD, power cables are arriving in the next 18hrs to power back up the 480, and a trip to microcenter for supplies to try to fix the other 1080. I feel a points surge coming on.

May be game 7, but it's far from over.

The Precision T3500 isn't dead. The Z68 machine is doing the same thing the Precision was doing, locking up randomly. WTF. 

I just got a full lockup on 3050ti system, had gotten short hitches before, but this one had touchpad non functional and then BSOD.

How has everyone been today? So far I've had a very good Sunday (knock on wood) as far as folding goes. All 11 of the GPUs I have folding right now have been going for hours without issue, and the Z68 machine has even managed to stay running without locking up. Still don't know what part is causing the issue there, but since it's literally identical to what the Precision was doing I think it's something with one of the GPUs or the PSUs. As long as it stays up for the rest of the event I'm fine with it. 

 

I've been very pleased with my new RTX 2070 so far. It seems to have settled around the 2.3M PPD mark, and I've even been able to overclock it slightly. I've got the fan cranked up a bit in order to keep it cool, and even with the overclock it's only running around 80°. To be fair, that's with some fresh air being brought in from outside (currently around 8° outside), but it doesn't get too much higher even when I'm not bringing in cool air. I'm considering tearing it down tomorrow and giving it a good cleaning as well as replacing the thermal paste. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, and it'll help me make up for the points I lost from crashing computers over the past couple weeks.

soo i decided to see what my unraid Server could do...leaving 3 Cores and 3 HT(6) Cores free running on 5/5(10) i am averaging 2.25 day per WU and getting 450k Credit...for 50watts...not sure if its worth it but not planning continuing on it as i don't want to crash or eff up Izac he's already in the last 3 weeks had 3 fans fail 2x front fans 1 HYPER M.2 X16 CARD fan)...he now has 4 A12x25s 2 Chromax and 2 tan and brown as i needed the y splitters...and that passes enough air so i don't need the fan on the ssd Adapter running...it wont run on the IG as the ASROCKRACK MB doesn't allow the vcard to initialize...when/if that board dies will just get a standards matx and get the PieKVM thingy...

Yeah long enough for the battery to go flat, I wonder if FAHClient didn't detect it was on battery so just kept folding away.  I don't think Asahi Linux is fully power management aware yet.

Thanks for the Updates @cbigfoot and the blogs @GOTSpectrum.

 

I have had an uptick in my numbers the last few days with the arrival of (2) 4080's that I got on launch day. Yes I know.... Horrible Value and all. But... I reason it this way. If you look at my ppd going back the last year plus, you will see constant ppd production. I look at GPU's for their long term production and ppd vs power consumption. When I put the 4080's online I was using nearly 80+ watts less (per machine) and getting double the PPD! This is an overall move to lesson my total number of GPU's while also using less power to get the same or better results (just like I did when I had 2000 series and then I moved to 3000 series). Yes, the fire breathing 4090's get great PPD, however i don't want that type of power draw 24/7. I won't win folding sprints, but I'm in it for the long haul and to Science the S*&t out of Cancer!

 

(I actually ordered (3) 4080's . However the wifes car ended up needing a 4090's worth of work soon, so the 4080 that I still had not received from BestBuy got canceled.) 

 

On that note, I spent today selling (2) 3060 ti's and a 3060 along with a few other things on Ebay to help recoop my costs! Plus I already have one of my computers lined up to be sold along with a 3070ti after the folding month ends to recoop the rest of my 'investments'.
