Summer Folding sprint 2022 - Part One

I've added a second RTX 3080 (this time a 12GB model) to my mix of folding cards. This card is even more impressive than the first RTX 3080 I'd been messing around with. Both are Gigabyte Gaming OC cards, but the first one I got was only the 10GB model. These things sure pull a lot of power, but I've spread out the load so that hopefully I won't trip any more circuit breakers before the event is over.

WTH lol i didnt realize there is that big of a difference from a 3070 and a 3080.

Point Validation Complete...umm were did i find that power at?? im surprised  @GOTSpectrumWill post the update when he can.  Remember the final points (tomorrows) tend to be delayed a few days while he arranges things...

I wonder if I'd qualify as finishing or not. I have the points to qualify, but hardware issues meant I had to wait a day and a bit for a laptop cooling stand to arrive + I got unlucky with the time window for day 2, missing it by < 3 hours.  So I think I'd only have 4 days of activity at the end of the event. (did day 0, missed day 1 and 2, did every other day)

as of right now it looks like if you get some done today you should be good. you have 4 currently

power went out for part of the city(where i live) for 2 hours. also yeah psu i said i was going to check out. a 850 watt total dead.(3 gpu set up)

welp. here's hoping i can hold the 34th position just my 3060 chugging along, i'd throw in the cpu but it takes like 18 hours for the Ryzen 1600 to complete one unit, and that's running at like 76C hahaha

Even added a custom loop for my CPU before this event and it still reached 75C after 2 days. Not worth it lol.

Did what I could.  Thankfully things kept running while I was gone, and some preloading helped early on when I couldn't really run much with people sleeping next to things.  I *THINK* I should hit my goal of 1m points for the event, which is a new high for me by a lot (still CPU only folding for me).  LONG LIVE THE FOLD!

I noticed a few back-to-back very slow WUs on my 3090 today that reported ~6M PPD instead of the usual ~11M while running. Seems like it might be down to whoever got luckier with WUs to determine whether Starman or I got 5th place!

I was aiming more at Alzheimer’s. But they all suck. Also Leila will be back online in three days.  Just having to re do where she is running and may load Linux on her. Bender is back mining.

Congrats to everyone who participated! I'm impressed with the turnout considering how expensive everything is right now and how hot it is in much of the world. We've put out a whole heck of a lot of work in a really short span of time.
