So I have a 1080 and a 1050 that are homeless at the moment... I am thinking I will toss them in a junk box and let them fold out for this time period as well. I also kind of want to add to my loop... but its so mentally taxing to do that work with the dense AF configuration I use. I might do nothing, or I might go beefcake before this event.

Things are real hectic for me at the moment so I'm probably not going to be as active this time around as with previous sprints, but I should be able to at least point a 3080 and 980 at it.

 

Gonna be fun dumping an extra 700-800W of heat into my little apartment right in the middle of June!

I'll sign up, but for the first time may not actually make the requirements.  I won't be able to babysit or tweak on things at all, and likely can't run 24/7 thanks to several visitors through most of the event (some of whom would likely sleep next to a couple machines).  We shall see.

I have registered for the fah event

 

 

Heres the pile of junk im using for the event now that rams are tuned and stable 5-10-7-24 82trfc 2140mhz meager 1.8v (rams wont go higher)

 

Looks like itll be running close to 95c for prolonged periods of time but at 1.27v theres no degradation, i may raise the freq if i have to cause this thing and my moms unused laptop (4200u) may not be enough to hit 300k points, there is still some headroom and im fine running it at 105c if need be (though ill avoid if not neccesary), cpu is trash so dont care if it slightly degrades at 105c if itll even run any faster if i let it go to 105c

 

Also rip neighbours cause of the 4k rpm intel exhaust fan and rip power bill cause x58 is a power guzzler

Board being a btch so if i fix it ill be running stock ~1333 and selling it off, goodness these asus boards suck, unfortunately giga boards are pricey when theres dirt cheap p6ts everywhere, hopefully itll only be ~10$ to upgrade to a better board

 

If i dont fix it this will explain why i am not even gonna be close to getting 100k let alone 300k

With fah most ocs end badly. Just an fyi especially on gpus

well said most...when we started pushing them during the covid moonshots and other events it was normally disaterous to do more than 100-200MHz if i recall on 2060s and 2070s etc. then again i didnt use that old of hw that will mostly be pretty slow IF the GT720m folds it MIGHT do 2 Easy WUs..in 1 week if you are lucky here is a GTS450 which is faster...GeForce GTS 450 Folding@Home PPD Performance - folding.lar.systems

I've got my 1660 Ti and RX 570 all ready to go. Those are the only two GPUs I'll be folding on this time since I don't want to heat the house up too much. I'll actually be pulling the 570 out of my office rig to lend to someone for a few weeks, so by the end of the week it'll just be the 1660 Ti by itself.
