Due to TSMC it looks like Nvidia messed up big time, expect delays on the 860,860ti,870,880 and titan brown

So something has gone dramatically wrong with the 20nm process provider so its been cancelled completely. 

 

Nvidia had no chocie but to retaliate back to the 28nm process, in the "process" they would have to reengineer the maxwell cards which of choice means a massive delay to any further maxwell cards and the slow and sad death of the 750 and 750 ti. The twins will stay, they have 28nm processes so yay.

 

BUT THE GT 705, gt 710 and 720 are still here, let us become humble prayers to the lords of the 20nm processes.

 

Anyways further cards(so like babies) of the GM106 and GM104(probably 860 to 880 my guess) kind are being killed off. I cannot allow this, we must do something, get the pitch forks, man your battle stations, force linus to tweet out nvidias site and then we crash the sh** out of it.

Looks like I will get a new processor! I bet Nvidia does a sort of "filler" release where we get slightly better performance and then releases Maxwell late/mid 2015.

Eh, even if they remain on 28nm I would be happy with a performance increase because of the SMM vs SMX design.

 

And DX12.

well the temps will slightly increase but not by a lot, thats probably the main issue.

R9 290's and 770's really seem to be a sweet spot for another while.

 

 

Not really Nvidia's fault, this was pretty much all TSMC. 

 

It can be nvidia setting unrealistic time frames for TSMC
