Favorite Cherry MX Switch

Should I get one of those keyswitch tester things for $10 before I buy? Or are those not realistic?

Cherry MX Tactile Grays, although a tad heavier tactile switch would be nice :)

I have Cherry MX Reds, for purposes of the poll. I think what I'd actually prefer in my next keyboard will be something clickier and/or with a heavier press. I haven't tried them yet, but I suspect I might prefer MX Blues.

Simple enough, what do you like to use? Feel free to explain why, super curious as to what people like.

Not a very simple question.

Currently typing on blues, love blacks and they are in my main keyboard, I like greens they are in my numpad, I recently built a keyboard with modded clears and they were decent, I have some vintage mx black switches with clear springs in them that feel really nice the only things I dont like are reds and browns. Also older switches feel so much better then new switches.

I have no idea.

I got my 1st Mechanical keyboard on Saturday, and I cannot use it (yet) since it has an ADB port. (AEKII with Alp Cream)

I also have a microbee which I also cannot use since it is a computer and not a keyboard. (Microbee PC85 with unknown switch)

If all I did was code or write papers/spreadsheets all day, then Blues. But since I use my keyboard for coding, spreadsheets, gaming, and other things, the blue are just a nuisance for gaming. Thus my sticking to Reds long before they started becoming more public by the likes of Corsair.

I use red for gaming and blue for typing/surfing. When I use to use only one keyboard as a do it all keyboard it was a brown which in my opinion is the best all in one switch.

I love my Browns on my K95 RGB, but I would have loved to have Blues. But unfortunately, at least at the time of purchasing my K95, the Cherry Blue RGB switches quite often would malfunction and the clicky portion would become stuck, basically making them into Browns. Apparently it was quite common as far as I found for keyboard with RGB blues to have at least two or three broken switches. So I bought one with Browns instead. Also, the K95s with Browns were a whole lot easier to find and were a lot cheaper too. I bought mine for 160 bucks even.

So yeah. Browns are awesome, but Blues are more awesomer-er

I'm on my first mechanical keyboard with MX Browns, the G710+

Wasn't as tactile as I expected. Wish i had Blues now.

Although I would also like for switches with lower travel/actuating distance.

Similar story with me. Got a g710+ but it wasn't as tactile as I had expected. Ended up buying a blue switch keyboard.

I like clears most. Blue, red and brown are too light for me, green is too loud for me and I prefer tactile over linear even for gaming, so I also like them more than blacks.

I like tactile but the clicking would drive me insane

Clear and brown are tactile but not clicky.
