new build any useful suggestions?

i want to build a 12900k with rtx3080 system. i like the new corsair 5000t but it has 4 usb 3.0 which means 2 front panel headers most motherboards only have one which means 2 ports will be unused. does anyone know of a atx motherboard that has 2 usb 3.0 front header cables.  preferably asus or evga boards. higher end please. mainly black as well if possible no price restriction but lets be reasonable

Unless you actually need USB3 speeds for all four front ports, you would probably be ahead to just get an adapter cable to connect two of the ports to a USB2 header.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

It's a Strix E with a slightly more overkill VRM, 2 Thunderbolt ports (which don't have display pass through so they're stuck with the iGPU), and way more expensive. If you're gonna be overclocking, it's a bad idea because it's got 2 too many DIMM slots and is in the same price range as other XOC boards like the Unify X, Tachyon, and the Apex, all of which are much better all around motherboards than the Hero. If you aren't gonna be overclocking, a $200 motherboard is fine for a 12900k, and if you need the thunderbolt, you can get that on other boards with better implementations of it like on the Z690 Ace. If you really want ASUS, save your money and get the Strix E instead, or if you can go with another vender (as you probably should) go for something like the MSI Z690 Unify X, Z690 Ace, Z690 Carbon, Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Pro, Z690 Aorus Master, etc. It's not that the Hero is necessarily a bad motherboard, it's just ~$150 more expensive than it should be, and the Strix E is basically the same board for $150 less (though admittedly without Thunderbolt).

Also there's the issue where one of the capacitors in the memory VRM was soldered on backwards so the boards were exploding, so there's that to look out for.

the reason i like the maximus hero is because its the only one i can find with 2 front ports that support usb 3.0. i dont want to use a adapter to go to usb 2.0 and dont want dead front ports. im willing to go either asus or evga. must have 2 front ports for usb 3.0 and one for usb c

One USB 3 header is good for 2 Type A ports, even the cheapest Z690 from Asus got it...

Or if you actually want 2 headers, the MSI Z690-A can do offer that. No reason to buy a Hero just for USB headers

So for the case you're going for, it has 4 front panel USB ports and 1 Type C port? Because even the Prime Z690-P has those connectors on it. The Strix boards don't have them (because Asus is weird), but basically every other board mentioned does.

And if you really want those, you could just buy a PCIe USB 3.0 card for the other header. You can get one for like $20 and a Strix E and still be well under the cost of a maximus. If you're gonna spend exorbitant amounts on a motherboard, you might as well go all the way for an Apex since that board, unlike the hero, will actually hold its value later on as a collectors item.

not sure if your heart is set on amd, but intel would be a better choice imo if you haven't purchased the parts yet. amd 5000 are decent chips, but 12th gen intel has better gaming performance.

I agree max for a 3060 would be like $500 and that's high. Check NewEgg for RTX  30 combos. They aren't the greatest of prices, but they are available. Otherwise, you are stuck waiting for BestBuy to go in stock, or praying for a random stocking somewhere else. Check out Falcodrin on twitch, he has a stock alert system and makes it easier to find a card.

Sorry I probably edited my post. Refresh plz. Build Specs Below.

what would you recommend in regards to a 12th gen intel chip the reason is because amd comes with a stock cooler and i wont be overclocking. if its intel i will still buy a oc chip but i dont overclock. a 12600k is about 12% faster but 70$ more expensive and doesnt come with a cooler

i dont do combos usually because they usually have one good part and one crappy part. or alot of them have horrible brand names. i dont like gigabite. or msi for their corporate practices and refuse to buy their products. i tend to stick with the evga asus parts corsair noctua,

accordign to this benchmarks the 5600x is 2.5% faster in games and doesnt require a cheap cooler which will likely fail in 1-2 years
