I've always used Verizon. It's what I had growing up and I just stuck with it. I've heard a lot of good things about Mint, though.

What about yoose? Why do you use what you do?

Mint has known issues with OnePlus phones.  I found out too late, so now I am either going to buy a Samsung Galaxy20FE or go back to AT&T.

I had Verizon for 19 years.  Switched last year to XFinity Mobile since they use the Verizon towers.  It's cut my monthly bill in half and I haven't noticed any change in service.  All-in-all happy with the switch and it's saving me $684 a year over Verizon.

Missed a decimal point? Or do you really pay almost $60 a month? With my current provider in the UK, if I wanted unlimited calling, texts and 5G data it would be the equivalent of about $40, and I know that's not even the cheapest available deal.

I knew the US was a bit more expensive, but I didn't think it was that much.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

T-Mobile, came from Verizon's """"unlimited"""" plan (which is really only 22GB until you get throttled to shit). Tmo lets me pass 50GB with basically no slowdowns. I'll take it (it's also cheaper than Verizon)

guys I know there's a data breach ok

why no dark mode?

I think you misread, he said he SAVED $684/y ... that means he was paying $57/m MORE when he was with Verizon 😉

Right now im still on Telkomsel's KartuHalo Kick 100 (now discontinued plan in favor of their Halo Unlimited plan), with 10GB of 4G, and 10GB of their bonus service bullshit. Obligatory free 200 text, and 100 minute of call to boot. Kinda mundane for a 7.99$ plan.

That sounds awful. That £25 ($40) plan I was talking about specifically says there are no speed caps, and Ofcom (the regulator for these things) is pretty strict so if they were saying that and then throttling people it would be stopped pretty quickly.

I shouldn't be surprised, though - it's really no secret how corrupt the telecommunications industry in the US is.

Yeah, he said that switching from Verizon halved his bill, so if it reduced his bill by $57/month then that must also be how much he is still paying.

For the past year or so I've been back with Verizon, and I'm happy with them. The price is definitely steep, but it's the best service I can currently get around here. I've got unlimited talk, text, and data, and the coverage is excellent. I was with AT&T for some time (company discount), but the coverage was awful in random areas. I switched to Sprint, and the coverage was better, but the speeds were terrible. I never saw decent data speeds while I had Sprint this most recent time. Now with Verizon I get great speeds and coverage, but it comes at a cost.

To answer the actual question in the thread, I pay Asda Mobile £5 ($6.85) a month for unlimited calls/texts and a gigabyte of data. I have never managed to get through that complete gigabyte, and if I did, I can pay £2 ($2.75) for an additional gigabyte. Works fine for me.

Customer service have also always been really good and they use Vodafone's network so coverage is reasonable enough.

Same. Out here in Nevada, anywhere north of Las Vegas has LITERALLY no service for hundreds of miles. Verizon has the biggest range, though. I might take a look at other providers that use Verizon's towers.

Damn !!! That price is ridiculously low !!!

Even with the "cheap" providers here, a 1GB plan with unlimited calls/texts is $25-30CAD (£15)

£20/month for 20GB data & 10k mins/texts, could get unlimited data if I moved to the other network we have, for the same price, but they're not as fast as mine is (at least last time I checked, which was a while ago).

I don't have Fizz for home internet, I'm currently with a small ISP, they use Bell network for Fiber and whatever cable provider in your area for cable (Videotron for my case), I was able to get a promo plan that isn't on their website ; 100Mbps down / 30 Mbps up for $50/m

I was on Fiber previously but was getting random disconnections and Bell always said there were no problems and it's probably my network at home (even though I change modems a few times and the disconnections would happen even if I was bypassing my home network by being connected on the modem directly). I haven't had any disconnections since I switched.

I get my mobile and my home service from BT.  80Gbit Broadband and land line costs me £57 a month and my mobile which is a Pixel 4a and 16GB of data is £17

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

T-Mobile with an iPhone 6S. "Unlimited" pretty much everything on 4G, no idea if it throttles yet or not because I've used 100MB of data so far.

On Verizon because A) wifey's plan and B) she was an Alltel customer, we know what happened there. I guess less a Verizon customer and more an Alltel captive.

If it wasn't for convenience, I wouldn't be a Verizon customer at all. Did customer service for them for 5 years and the mess I can't unsee. The back to back calls because Verizon is short staffed. The tools never working. Their idiotic marketing team. That one time they tried to get us to hype Stadia...I'm not kidding.

The pushing of upsells during a global pandemic was probably the most disgusting. Oh, you lost your job and need a lower bill? How about having a better unlimited plan for only $10 extra? How does that value sound? Ugh. F Verizon
