Her boss was asked by another employee specifically 'do you care if I have an onlyfans' and he gave the 100% correct answer of 'I don't care what you do in your free time, just don't do it at work and don't do it in uniform'. Plenty of employers simply do not care what you do off the clock so long as it doesn't affect on the job performance. I guess you like better not have children or a family cause that's more likely to impact work performance than selling some videos of you bumpin your own ugly. She's been selling videos and pictures online for years now across several sites that have come and gone, clipvia, onlyfans, manyvids, and a few others. I encourage her to do so, extra income is great! There will surely be another onlyfans that crops up sooner rather than later and she'll just hop on over to that site with all her content when it's time. She's worried that she's aging out because she's over 30 but it doesn't seem to be the case, her fans are fairly dedicated regulars and she caters especially to a few that pay extra. She's in like the top 10% at the $200 a month range, so it's not like you RAKE IN THE CASH like some people think you do. People in the top 1% are doing this as a full time job at that point and that's not something she's interested in doing, this is strictly a side hustle to have some spending money now that her car is paid off. She actually reinvested most of her ManyVids earnings into her 'collection of objects' but that particular maker of objects took a more mainstream turn and has been pretty meh with their offerings lately. Also a credit card processor thing I think!

Frankly, I find your negativity to be a bit disparaging with a thinly veiled concern as cover. Her employ-ability is only a concern for herself so you can reserve your concerns in that regard for matters more in need of your worry, thank you.

The only other sites that is similar to only fans are those cam sites. Pay to see them play. They are getting payments. 

Because OF is under pressure from financial institutions like Visa and MasterCard and perhaps even governments with concerns of child pornography. Even if OF were to support cryptocurrency payments, the facilitator of the payment can still be scrutinized. And as far as I know, other porn studios have adult sex workers certified as employees which is why they can receive payments from Visa and Mastercard, plus the frequent STD testing and they pay their taxes. OF on the other hand is like Floatplane of porn where people can sign up for an account and offer subscription tiers.

While I don't use OF (either way), that's just stupid. This whole chasing and punishing of sex is just ridiculous and it always ends with something stupid like "we need to secure financial shit with banks" or "think of the children" for some stupid reason, somehow. Sex is one of most natural things in human existence (quite literally). Meanwhile depiction of death in games and movies, the mainstream one rolling on your TV's this moment, perfectly fine and making hundreds of millions and no one has problem with it really if it's so mainstream. And not just action movies, whole franchises like The Saw where depiction of cruelest death possible is just the most cool stuff ever and they are at fucking how many of those movies? 7 ? And like some pointed out, this was literally the reason for success of the OF platform. It's like PornHub deciding to ban all porn now and only host children's cartoons from now on. Like wtf. Makes no sense.

 

And since it's no secret how exploitive mainstream sex industry is, these people doing it on their own terms without any middle man dictating how and how often they need to do stuff, just OF itself taking a cut, it was probably also one of safest ways to do porn. We can all make fun how every girl has OF and how every one of them is top 0.1% lol, but that's the reality, it's probably one of safest ways to do porn for everyone involved. OF should leave it alone and banks and payment processors should stop being puritan assholes. Since when has payment processor involvement became some sort of endorsement? So MasterCard processes OF payments for example. So what? That's like saying Ford endorses bank robberies because their vans were most popular to rob banks. It's stupid. They just do the payment processing. That's it.

So, I'm not going to quote all the people who need to see some of this, but here's what I've gathered.

 

OF is launching a new platform.  It has to be (mostly) separate from the existing one, as the presence of porn on OF means they can't get into the App Store or Play Store (or amazon, or anyone else.)  This means they're missing out on a huuuuge market.  (Mobile is a big fuckin' deal.)

 

Currently OF is saying they're not going to be changing anything.  Including content.

Other details I have seen:

 

There are absolutely a number of Credit Card processors who will absolutely NOT do business with you if your platform is for porn.  Because America is full of freaking prudes, thanks to the puritans.  (And no, there was no religious persecution there, they were kicked out of England for executing King Charles.  Yes, really.)

 

Cuz, y'know, people getting shot on-screen is perfectly reasonable for prime-time television.  But god forbid anyone's nipple show up on TV!

 

So, I'm leaning towards OF Won't change right now, but depending on the success of the other platform, well, we shall see what the future holds.

IMO companies should stand up against VISA and Mastercard and instead swap to crypto and get away from the old people and banks. There's not a ton of compelling reasons besides FDIC to stay and it would be great step forward for everyone. As this is suicide for the platform

Considering that both straight and gay sex workers have trouble monetizing their content due to piracy and lack of incentive from mainstream financial institutions, many of them resorted to uploading to OnlyFans where in they can make a tier subscription every month. Now this will be huge blow to their income if this is their only source considering that bars and strip clubs have closed ever since the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year. It was said however that they’re still allowing nude photos and videos, but not two or more people having sex in front of a camera. But if you ask me I doubt sex workers and instagram models having an OnlyFans account are actually earning a lot so it’s always nice to diversify and have other income sources.

Business are always forced to make this choice. Either go full blown porn and deal with the more costly payment processing, or divest from porn.

This is a fairly general response, but it's really important to understand the anti-porn stance isn't about MasterCard being prudes. And it's always MC that is playing dirty on the backend of things. If you fall afoul of the "approving authorities", your ability to move money is always attacked from within MC. It's been super consistent for the last decade, we just normally only saw it come up with adult content.

 

Now, there is a business case for it. Adult Content might create the majority of Chargeback requests for credit cards, which means they're really, really expensive points of sale for MC/VISA/Banks. From a business perspective, if most of your costs are one small segment, it makes sense to not be involved. Issue is, like most things in the real world, a lot more complicated by what they aren't telling you because MC goes about making it so other processors won't do business with the companies. I'll avoid how this shows up in politics (especially since some Startups are running de facto Social Credit systems and that information is being used already), but the reason they draw this bright line is much the same reason Apple & Google do on their App Stores. It is purely hypocritical, but there are interests and factions that want to keep certain segments separated because it serves their interests. 

 

Or, put another way, the biggest consumers of Hookers & Blow don't want it to show up on their CCs. There are legitimate reasons for the actions, the problem is those aren't the reasons they're actually taken.

Basically yeah, OF and other sites have an internal dispute resolution between the seller and buyer. My partner had a couple issues when she switched to H265 encoding, some buyers couldn't get the files to play and one rather than sending a message to ask or figuring it out just demanded a refund. She did what she needed to do on her end to satisfy the platform but the buyer never responded so it went in her favor. I'm sure they escalated it to a CC charge back though, even though OF and other sites have pretty clear and good dispute resolution policies. They want to keep everyone happy and making the platform money. Technical issues aside she's had no issues with customer charge backs except that one that had an issue and refused to resolve it.

A lot of people are getting the OnlyFans story wrong, and the reality of it is a lot more damaging and concerning to both the livelihood of sex workers and online freedom in general.

 

OnlyFans isn’t ditching porn and sex workers because it’s trying to get new investments. It’s ditching them because on October 1st of 2021 MasterCard is implementing new rules governing sites with adult content that use their payment processing systems.

 

These rules will basically require that OnlyFans (and every other site that accepts MasterCard payments) not only fully verify every user and every person who appears in every adult video, but review all posted content before publication, including real-time review of livestreams

 

The new records-keeping, review processes, verification and other requirements are going to be expensive and time-consuming. OnlyFans seems to have decided it’s not worth it. More importantly though, these rules will put incredible pressure on smaller sites and indie creators.

Probably worried about getting fingered for accepting money that was involved in underage content because that's super illegal but I really doubt that with their clout and lobbying power they have anything to worry about so yeah we circle back around to it seems like they're trying to...yep.  Would it hurt OF to just not accept Mastercard? Everyone I know has at least one Visa.

there is no underage conten creator on onlyfans. you have to submit your government ID before you can be a creator on the platform
