How long till RTX 3080s and a 5900xs shortage stops. (Like 1 full days of RTX 3000 and Ryzen 5000 series in stock)

long time. 3080 are going to be a while
5900x maybe very end of Q1 early Q2. Ive seen some in stock at a local place

Good luck, Have fun, Build PC, and have a last gen console for use once a year. I should answer most of the time between 9 to 3 PST

There actually quite a bit in stock here in Asia. But the pricing are bananas, nearly double the MSRP.

we had stock for quite a while in south africa but out of stock everywere now . and been sold out for a month . new stock only lasts 2 days 

3090s are still available 

3080s been sold out for a while - about a month 

3070s sold out about 3 weeks ago - got new stock in on Friday sold out on sunday 

3060ti sells out as soon as it comes into stock same day

In NA, Summer maybe? Definitely when less people are cooped up inside for the winter

No one knows for sure, but I've seen tech youtubers mention maybe in the summer, it's going to be a while before you'll find a 3080 in stock without needing to sign up for a queue or use stock trackers.

Although a Ryzen 5000 series CPU may be easier to find, I noticed Newegg and Amazon sometimes has them in stock but you have to be really fast to get one.

They not exactly scalpers. No!! These are legitimate big retailers that are using this situation just to make more profit. AMD cpu and graphics card are the worst in terms of pricing. Intel cpu are under control, in fact even some are below MSRP.

if your only shopping online then i wouldn't bet on getting one for a LONG time. But, at least where i live, there is new stock at local stores every week or two.

But I have my doubts.

 

Gpu are sold out here too now, last 3070 I saw sold is $1200, 3090 is $2500

Just sleep in front of your local computer store every day and ask if they got stocks in the morning.

Now the RTX 3080 is a whole other beast.  Yes you have stock shortages due to high demand and tariffs but you also have mining going on.  People thought it was crazy when RTX 3080 were being sold for $1200 at launch but with what's going on that might be too low since they are now going for as high as $1500.  I don't think RTX 3080 ever hit shelves for the foreseeable future due to mining.

If you really wanted RTX 3080, you had to grab one still in 2020. I already overpaid my RTX 3080, but the same card I bought now costs almost 200€ more. I kid you not. I paid 980€ for RTX 3080. It's a lot over MSRP but we never get them at those prices in Europe anyway and with Corona tax on top it was what it was. But all things considered, it was still somewhat reasonable if you wanted a new high end card. At almost 1200€, it's just insanity. And looking at major retailers in Europe, Computer Universe and Caseking, they don't have ANY in stock and has been this way for weeks if not months now.

It is like asking "I left my kittens alone with an open huge bag of food in my house how long till they stop eating it? " 

 

As long as nobody cares and a minority of people pay the prices these GPUs are listed for this situation is going to continue, the premise may change (scalpers,miners,shortages in GPUS, in RAM, pandemic, terrorism, alien invaders) but the bottom line of you paying an overpriced piece of hardware will remain.

At this point, the most likely scenario will be the soon to arrive flood of mining cards. Do not buy any of them, let the loss of initial investment be a lesson to miners! You want to buy from miners and scalpers? Let the price drop to minium 1/2 of 2020 MSRP. Dont even THINK buying at 2020 MSRP second hand

 

I suspect 12th gen Intel/RTX40/Ryzen4/RX7 will launch at the end of this year. MSRP equal to 2020 prices or even lower. Stock will be decent, since production will ramp up again.

Dribs and drabs for most of 2021, maybe some more supply in Q4. Probably spring 2022 before full availability. The Silicon draught is effecting everything even cars so it will take a long time to return to even keel.
