How did you guys save up for your PC?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by lani100,

Work, Repair some stuff for family and friends and ask some money for the jobs and I buy some used hardware and build computers and sell them with a llittle profit.

Tax refund and 6 months no interest on Newegg... I spent around $1400 (USD) on new parts and used some old parts. It will be fully mine in July.  :P

My mother was gracious enough to fund my build in preparation for going off to school. :) I had never had a computer all to myself before so that makes me feel slightly less guilty about it haha.

But now for anything other than college expenses, I'm on my own.  Good thing I managed to get a summer job. :P

Just over $5000 including peripherals and afforded through working haha  :D Anyone still in school my advice is work for one year and build yourself something to tide you over for 3-4 years of your uni/college course and then once you get your proper job go all out like I did!  :)

around $5000 with peripherals. Got money from injuries I had in a car accident. I got it for work so its a complete write off!  :D

I got it built right when sandy bridge came out. 3930k, 32GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 1TB storage drive, and GTX 580.

My Biggest regret is that I didnt build it myself :( Next build I am building myself!

I saved up enough to get a working PC with the parts I wanted, I already had some bad HDD's lying around, and a optical drive. So, I am slowly replacing those parts with newer ones as I can afford it! My YouTube channel now helps a little.

Currently I can afford anything withing reason as I have a full-time job.

When I was younger, school/college I took summer jobs and saved money which I got from repairing computers.

I afforded my rig by buying the parts piece by piece. First bought a PSU then mobo and CPU, onto the ram and SSD. Then a GPU and finally the case. Took a couple months but it made a $1000 PC feel like I didn't spend a lot on it because of how spaces out the parts were bought
