/facepalm Built new PC for a friend

hi guys

an older friend of mine wanted to build a new PC for Gaming on a budget

his current pc was from 1997 and the GPU burned up

so i choose parts that were great AND were powerful enough for a faster GPU in the future without a bottleneck

 

 

the pc was about 1000$ with monitor mouse keyboard and win7

 

after finishing the build i was like ok lets open steam

he already had an account

 

........ and he ONLY plays one game

 

guess what game it was

 

CS 1.6

 

yeah u read it right thats the ONLY game he plays .... ever

 

i was like but what about these other games

he said no i dont like playing games other than CS 1.6 i dont like them

 

my face when he said that :|

 

i could have spent like 500$ instead wtf ....

he kept saying " I want it to handle games " i never knew he meant CS 1.6 rofl ...

Now he has the ability to expand into other games. He didn't have that option before.

he overclocked his monitor to 74hz :) using the nvidia control panel

he plays online

over and over

 

reminds  me of my self at a younger age  :)

but they're basically the same game with prettier graphics? this does not make sense.

 

well, CS go has the workshop & market now, but appart from that.

that is sooo wrong

when i moved from CS to CSS back in the day it was almost unplayable for me

stopping distance was longer (the time it takes to stop when released the W button)

zooming was slower  etc etc etc

DOD source was a much better evolution in my opinion but CSs was a drastic change

anyways i hated the game but i was forced to play it because all my friends were playing it

CSGO is an even bigger nightmare for me

I've played all 3 before, I never noticed the difference.

 

then again, I dont own CS 1.6, so I only got to try it out for about an hour.

 

but appart from that, CS:S to CS:GO was seemless to me.
