Google director: "Computers will outsmart humans by 2029"

Robots will be smarter than the most intelligent humans within the next 15 years, Google’s engineering head has predicted.

 

Computers will soon be able to learn from experience, tell jokes and even flirt, according to Ray Kurzweil, the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) expert.

 

Google has spent billions of its £57bn fortune quietly buying up the world’s top robotics companies, including DeepMind, a British company which specialises in machine learning, and Boston Dynamics, which makes advanced military robots

 

Doesn't sound that far off to me. I mean, I believe it, and I wouldn't be too awfully surprised if it happened earlier than that. We all know that this day is eventually coming, and it will be during our life time, which is both cool and exciting, but also kind of scary at the same time. 

 

What are your thoughts on this?

its true i only have 1 core cpu in my head and 1gb ram my pcs more powerful then me :(

except im sure that in other generations people wernt having sex, smoking weed, and drinking alcohol by the age of 15. Maybe a little before but now its become the norm.

That will be when robots that speak and have emotions like bender from futurama start appearing I think... But one of the main things that computes now are lacking... Or at least for the terms of AI. If reasoning and logical thinking when being given a taskt they Havnt been tought it... And learning how to overcome it... I think that is one of the hard parts of this...
