Bit of A bit of B.  More hardware = more server queries and jobs too.

Has anyone else not gotten any GPU work for about 12 hours?

Also: Folding helps keep my coffe warm:

 

 

(I know, bad cable management, but this is just something I quickly chucked together from old hardware, will be disasembled after the event)

Have a skim through the past 20 or so pages.  We've got an ironing board PC cluster, a table top PC with a pet cage holding the PSU, a counter top PC with cards requiring social distancing for airflow, and more!

But this is already how the system is designed to work, that's why we have assignment servers!

 

Unfortunately, by the time the assignment severs have assigned something that server has run out of WUs.

 

@Saimen the issue is they would then need to add more servers to act as the central repository or would have the current work servers maxing out their current bandwidth, neither is fun and would increase cost, complexity and most likely reduce performance

Your own private little management server thingy that serves as proxy between the public servers and your own machines would take some load of the public servers and -with some extra little functions like more intelligent queue management- improve overall efficiency and throughput. 

Also im wondering wether it would be possible to use torrent to distribute the WUs or part of them at least...

P2P isnt possible with folding WUs due to the fact that each one is unique, so it's not like you can just copy a version you have to someone else.

Once every few hours I restart, then try pausing and folding again, then restart pc, changes nothing, I just wait and hope. I'm wasting a lot power with so much at idle and its making me feel guilty, I'm turning most of it off until what I have on actually starts getting regular WUs.

I have an H100i Pro RGB cooler but I'm also in a mini ITX case, so not the greatest conditions for said cooling. Do you have a picture of your cooler? Your sig says an H115i Pro which should be plenty if hooked up right

In the same boat, had a really nice WU around 9pm last night (212k points) and the well has been dry since, restarted / paused / etc but to no avail.

what graphics card is that? on another note i might have bought a 2060 off of Nextdoor.  the guy will bring it by in a few days(cash will exchange hands then).  he works at a local hospital and just bought 2x2080Ti's and is runnig F@H for PCMR :(. but its ok it was 175 lol.
