So it would make sense to stop paying for heat and buy 4 290Xs to mine and heat at the same time?

No, then the power grid would go down worldwide, and you'd catch on fire.

Mine never touches 50C, even when I have a 3.7GHz OC and 1.4v... Let me say though, this is with a 17C or so ambient, and my TX3's fan is almost always spinning slower than 900RPM.

a floppy drive with 880808080 terabytes of storage. Outdated, but still large. Also, try to build a computer to the edge of space.

Yeah, mine goes to about that temperature with everything (Including pump on my Kuhler) on low. On high it only makes like a 5 degree difference. My GPU goes to 150-160f playing something like BF4 but it's not a blower design so the air just sort of disperses inside the case.

My laptop stays cool too, but before I modified it the thing was running over 200f with the fans on max which did provide some nice heat for my hands. But now, the fan only needs to run at very low speed under load.

Damn, my laptop always hovers around 180F. But then I JUST found out that my laptop doesn't work as hard when on battery. I do that, and I manage to get average 130F, 150-160 max. The fan is so quiet until 180F. Then that screams like it's saying, "Kill me. Stab a screwdriver through my die."

Yeah, most laptops run at higher voltage than they can be running. Mine was around 1.3v stock and I have it set to run at full speed all the time at just over 1v. If it's an Intel chip you could use Throttlestop to mess around with the voltage and stuff.

I also opened it up and fiddled with the heatsink until it was the way I wanted it. (GPU still runs a little hot for my tastes, 160f max with it overclocked and fan on low.)

I tried to use it to lower my speed, but I lowered it waaaaaaaaay to far and slowed it down to a crawl, almost to the point of a lockup and almost rendered my laptop unusable. BTW, it was about, let's say, 200 MHz.

I didn't say speed, I said voltage. That's what makes the heat, but too little voltage and you'll have to lower the speed or else it'll freeze or BSOD.

The release of an FX-8970 (4th generation FX), the release of an Intel Core i7-9970X, or a dual-ITX GTX 990, or a Radeon UHD 9990. (I hate the R7 and R9 branding..., Radeon UHD is a better name in my opinion) and hopefully ten years in the future, we will use 16TB Corsair Vengeane DDR4 1600 GHz quad-channel modules

That computer built in minecraft.

Seriously, a functional computer inside a game on a computer. I don't think it gets any crazier than that.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

A computer that goes on your necklace made of carbon nano tubes that has unlimited processing power and runs on universal electricity, it would hook up wirelessly to your eyes so that the computer is displayed over the enviroment from your perspective making immersion go to a whole new level.
