Last night:
In Las Vegas, people gathered for Alienstock, which was run like a traditional EDM festival, with lots inflatable aliens.
In Hiko, there was another alien festival, with themed displays out in the desert.
in Rachel, there was another Alienstock, with live rock music played out across the Nevada sand, and themed events. Despite the warnings from locals, this appears to have gone largely without major incident.
At the gate to Area 51 itself, some people did gather. They gathered round, chatted, took some photos and joked. There are reports of at least one arrest.

 

My Thoughts:
No matter what happens this event, or meme, will go down in pop culture for quite a while. I'm surprised at the high number of people turning up however updates and other news will be slow due to basically non-existent cellular coverage. I'm looking forward to whatever today brings.

im going to be disappointment if they dont storm the grounds

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

I'm honestly not surprised by people showing up. Though I seriously doubt many of them will actually storm Area 51, it's probably a good event to hang out with like minded people and discuss wacky theories for the fun of it. And from what I saw they're at least decently prepared for the amount of people they could be getting.

i suspect nobody is actually gonna have the balls to "raid" it or get anywhere close to where they might suffer consequences. this shit started as an outcry for truth and will probably end in a music festival selling merch like the good little capitalists they are. i truely hoped for a brave heart scene and masses on masses of people just overrunning the place. 

but also i have to say posting the date on social media month beforehand means they also knew what was coming so even if people actually stormed it. and even if they had something there the government now had time enough to clear everything out if they needed to. but again those are a couple of big ifs.

What do you mean non existent cell coverage? There are multiple live streams from the gate. A camo dude was about to unleash his dog on someone who crossed the line. Some other dude crawled under a fence but some dude snitched so he ran back. It's pretty cringey and if you went all that way atleast get arrested. Also some dude had an ARRI Alexa and shoulder rig filming

i may be a bit partial since i just chaos but i think the basic idea wasnt that wrong. a mass protest where they actually enter the premises instead of just standing in front of it forces the government to react. but the level of commitment it would take for someone to actually not care what happens to them and just go do it is something virtually everyone lacks. 

also i just really wanted that can of worms to be opened or should i say pandoras box. but then again i am one of the stupid people that actually believe theyre hiding something. im not saying i presume to know what it is but i do feel theres something going on theyre not telling us.

I'm one of the people who doubts the existence of extraterrestrial life, so I don't personally think the government is hiding anything more in Area 51 than they already hide outside it.

This is such a great opportunity for the army to have some fun. 

 

  • Put a really skinny soldier in an alien costume and have 2 armed guards chase him just within the line of sight from the gates. 
  • Build a fake crashed UFO and put it somewhere in sight, mostly covered by a large tarp and with some heavily armed soldiers nearby.  Have some technician-looking guys investigate the "crash site" .
  • Have some black gliders/sailplanes with 3 spotlights do a flyby at night, at enough attitude for the hull and wings to be invisible to the naked eye.  Perhaps with some UFO-like sound coming from them.

 

Oh man, I'd have a blast if I were in charge there ...

It probably exist but not in the little grey men kind of way we generally think of them. Something I have never seen mentioned before is the resources required to create an industrial society. If it wasn't for fossil fuels we'd still be in wood huts burning trees to keep warm. We may be the first civilisation to leave our planet of origin, and the ability to do so may be very limited depending on conditions.

The guys got fined $2200 USD each, and they must forfeit all electronics in their possession (eg: Phones, cameras, etc). They were also sentenced to a One Year Suspended sentence. This means as long as they comply with the plea bargain details (eg: not trespassing again, and not going to any of the Storm Area 51 events), and otherwise keep out of legal trouble, their 1 year jail sentence will be suspended and they will only serve time-served.
