Linus good you stop using so bad language in your video.  In your latest, you put to f's and one bastard in your language.  And at least make the censoring a little better.  Anyone easily understands which words you say.  Common.  I show your videos to kids.  I don't want them to hear all that.  

Just improve censoring.

I would say Linus videos are still pretty PG rated, the editors could maybe up their bleeping game.

No he needs to do the opposite. Censoring bad words, within reason, is a dumb practice. You never used to have to on Youtube but now with the ad friendly content you have to or you don't get paid. This is a form of censorship

LTT isn't aimed at little kids, it's aimed at those who are older and therefore competent enough to build and troubleshoot their own PC. Kids aren't competent enough to do that, no matter how much of a "genius" they may be. I mean sure, start them young, but that is a two part saying. Start them young, but old enough. There is such a thing as too young no matter what. While I see your point, kids are going to learn those words regardless, hell they probably already have. They will say them behind their adults backs no matter what. I mean, we all did it, didn't we? And now, being adults, we still use them. I don't personally think the curse words are over the top, nor are they abundant either.

It is debatable whether or not kids should be hearing swear words, but I think beeping them out makes the words less obstructive (not sure exactly how to describe it)

Whoa whoa whoa, this thread needs a chill pill. I honestly commend channels that still have the confidence not to bleep swear words. If you can't take the heat then get out because like others have said it isn't a perfect world. And honestly who cares? Oh no this person that makes FREE content has not done their job right. Its all up to opinion and what you take offense to so everyone is different and that's that.

I.......don't care either way. I swear quite freely myself and I don't mind dark and/or sexy humour or stuff like that, but I can also understand that some people are more sensitive to those kinds of things. *shrug*

I think I will never understand why you want to bleep things in first place. None of our TV, radio or anything is bleeped. Its not encouraged by anyone, and often frowned upon when someone drops "v-sana", local equivalent to f-word. But when its every second word that comes out of popular rappers mouth, no one is safe. Bleeping I've yet to see/hear video/podcast where bleeping was successful. With LTT they tend to make fun of having to do it at all. Considering they even have video series titles "$h!t manufacturers say" or the HOLY $h!t where Linus emphasizes the word.

 

My advice, don't show your kids everything shown on LTT. The content needs at least moderate level of understanding context, and they make a lot of penis-jokes. Or implications. And you should also teach your kids that swearing isn't the cool thing to do. Just like smoking or being drunk isn't. Or violence. Rather than trying to keep it out of their way. Once they are in elementary school where you can't control everything they do all the time, its time to start slow merging into reality.

Yeah.  I did that.  I  made a checklist of all the minutes where Linus would.....express himself.  So far I got six different minutes.  I think its safe now.  I'll just mute it.

Don't worry.  They know alot.  I just don't think its pleasant to hear it.  I do disagree with using bad words in everyday language.  They should be in anger but not to laugh with.

 

But if Linus is going to bleep his language, there should a better bleep.  The bleeps he puts are just over the real word.  They don't really censor it.  Anyways, last time's video didn't have any really bad language.  Just replacements.
