This guy with almost a million subs has opinions on the recent content ID "drama".

There was no right or wrong way to do this, people would have been complaining if he made the video addressing the situation, or if he didn't make the video on the subject, people would have said he was ignoring the situation. Does anyone really think that Linus really wanted to make a video, while at home with his family, to make more money, i'm pretty sure with the current video rate, he doesn't need the help from the "drama"? He clearly looked exhausted about the entire situation and explained what was happening and why. Careys video was full of factual mistakes on the law/Youtube and many other topics.  

 

Also, anyone that says "There's going to be a lot of Linus worshipers in here, ban them immediately", clearly wants to live in his own bubble and doesn't want to hear any opinions apart from the ones that he agrees with.

Hey @BuckGup, understand that not everything that is used to attract viewers is clickbait. He also wasn't 'stretching the truth', just directly addressing the matter.

I just watched the whole video again and no where is the still of him from the thumbnail. He took it sometime before or after the video which basically proves my point even more.

I wasn't saying Linus is stretching the truth I was saying some news websites like Buzzfeed or the WSJ. Also if you look at the live chat you can see everybody is questioning what drama? When he explains the "drama" people then shift on how youtube copyright is broken. Drama wasn't the right word to use

He was addressing other YT channel's videos which defo count as drama. Like he said they could have just reached out to him directly, but nope they made a video on it. Yeah in that sense I agree. They shouldn't just assume and go of saying bad things without contacting them especially with how broken Youtube is.

2X speed yo. What I said was it was inappropriate for Linus to use clickbait on a pretty significant topic. I made comments about news outlets doing the same but they go beyond and have reported on false things like PewDiePie being a Nazi and so on. He used a very vague title with drama in the title which OP even says "drama" in quotes which could either mean he thinks there is no drama and it's blown up or Linus using drama was misleading. Then the thumbnail is not pulled from the video which means he went through the effort to make the video look a certain way to get more views which is clickbait. The information in the video is great and informative. The title and thumbnail not so much. The linus likes money part isn't just this it's more about playing Youtubes game with clickbait even though it's only going to hurt him in the long run once things change.

What's the point of adding a thumbnail when youtube auto generates 3 for you. It would take more time and effort to take the picture make sure it's under 2Mb upload it and then select it. My point is he put effort into making the thumbnail look a specific way. He could of just used a random one to save time or a just a white screen. But no

No, this is about how Youtube's Content ID - system went berserk and started issuing copyright claims on people's videos in LMG's name. It's apparently mostly to do with the fact that many of the LTT-videos use Unigine Heaven - benchmark and so do many of the other videos, so Content ID - system was thinking that they're just copying LTT's videos. Then certain people, who refuse to understand or acknowledge that the Content ID - thing is a bot, started accusing Linus personally of trying to kill off smaller channels.

Who really cares dude, like seriously. What you are saying makes little difference. You have an opinion and others have theirs. Maybe he took the thumbnail before, maybe he took it after, still makes little difference to the overall topic.

It's a webcam, it'll be under 2MB easy. And snapping a quick thumbnail/aka effort = clickbait? Is he not allowed to pick a decent picture? Technically everything on the entire internet is clickbait (since the entire internet works off you clicking something), so you can just keep claiming anything you like as reee clickbait, but we both know what the general definition of that is and this video ain't it chief. Title and thumbnail both convey what happens in the video, same as how your vomit shake titles and thumbnails of a kid licking what looks like vomit on the ground convey exactly what's in that video.
