How can i become a more valuable member of this forum?

Greetings!

As im nearing 1000 posts ive been wondering "hmm I'm not the best or rather helpful" And when i post something its usually badly done and bare. and everyone who reads my trash probably wonders "How can i delete some else account?"

And i dont want to stay like this forever, so please tell me how i can change! I want to make my 1000th post my best post ever.

So tell me, how can i improve?

Any input is greatly appreciated!

read, check videos about tech and computers and PC gaming on youtube...watch a lot of reviews, benchmarks videos, product reviews etc...so that you get a lot of knowledge about many topics so that you can help people better :)

I have a feeling you already know from the wording of your post, it is just a matter of making the choice of being that way.

I mean what are your interests and hobbies? Aligning yourself with areas of the forum that contain things you like is the best way to get the most out of it.

Seems like your making a correlation between your post count and member value. Those two don't necessarily have to correlate at all, it's just a number.

Better question to ask yourself is why you want to be seen as a valued member on the forum, does your image here matter that much to you? In regards to how to improve yourself, that should be a fairly easy question to find a answer to. Just look at other forum members who appear to be providing helpful advice or good content to the forum.

Well, I like to come up with crazy ideas that normal people would dare to think of that revolve around tech.

like building a desktop that's powered off a Li-ion battery.

My honest opinion would be to:

  • Be a good member in general. Follow the rules.
  • Be well-informed on what goes into your posts so you're not just typing what's possibly true or false, find out if it is.
  • Do research on a topic you're passionate about, and help people with that topic whenever possible. For me, it's usually troubleshooting and build planning. Just some of the things I do well in.

There's probably a bit more than that, but that's all I can think of right now.

just do what i do,

1.) when somebody asks a question, give incredibly broad/unhelpful advice that sounds like you know what your talking about.

2.) make shit up as you go along

3.) assume nobody has googled the problem

4.) provide all your facts from the first result on page 2 of google search results.

5.) do all this while making it not look like you're blatantly trolling, even though you are.

6.) be nice to the mods.

you'll be king in no time.

EDITed for @Sierra Fox:

7.) never ever admit you're wrong

8.) defend your answer until the other person gives up, especially when you're wrong

9.) change your profile pic to something memorable.

10.) pick a colour, and only type using that colour

How do Reavers clean their spears?

|Specs in profile|

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

Just start sending me lots of cash and I'll tell everyone how wonderful you are.

If you help one person, one time, then you've already done more than many others have. Don't sweat the rest.

I'm at over 17,000 posts and I'm not sure what I have done that is that valueable.

You made posts that used bandwidth.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.
