I have a dual p3 tualatin 1.4GHz I need to troubleshoot and possibly repair, if that works it's going in that. if not, I want a TBird AXIA stepping 1ghz.  I have several, but I think they are all badcaps boards, and that is a PITA I don't want to deal with right now.

Oh. I'm planning on getting one of the 1GHz Coppermines and a plain-Jane Intel mobo, since it matches my current Intel Slot 1 mobo (I/O wise). Darn Gateway and their non-replaceable rear I/O).

Thought I would show you some of my old gear

Most of it is just packed away, as I don't really have a use for it anymore.

 

This is an old 3Com 3C905C-TX-M nic, currently sitting in an old P4 server that isn't in use anymore.

 

Creative Sound Blaster Live! Value, got it from a old P3 pc. Currently using it for playing music. It sounds pretty good, considering this is a sound card from 1999.

 

ATI Radeon 9600 (pretty sure it's the SE model), 128mb. Equipped with some custom ram heatsinks.

 

An old HP socket A motherboard with an AMD Athlon XP 2600+. Don't remember where it originally came from.

 

A random stick of SDRAM. Pretty sure it a 32mb stick, but I don't have a system for it or to test it on.

 

An socket 478 Asus P4S800D motherboard, with spiders in it...

 

Some ATA Seagate HDD's. Once had a 4gb one, but it had so many bad sectors that I could not use it for anything, so I threw it out.

 

Some more Creative sound cards and a VIA firewire card. I have sadly never if my life used or owned a firewire device.

 

An ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb. This one had overheated, so it has artifacts, even in desktop. I'm going to see if I can get it to work properly.

 

And at last some cpu's. A socket 478 P4 cpu, a socket 775 Core2 Duo E4500 (don't even know if it works), an E8400 and at last an Pentium D 945.

 

Btw, do any one of you know how I make the spoiler/show text thing? I have tried goggling it, but could not find it anywere

erm.... most of this stuff doesn't fit my definition for retro or old computer parts... but hey Im getting old, so I guess that my definition is not the only valid one anymore. *shrug*

 

My current most vintage PC (though I want to make older ones)

 

"fuzzy" 386DX-40MHz, with mathco.

all SCSI, all non PnP parts, all (most) era parts.

I really want to get my hands on an almost working or working 386, I got so many programs for one.

 

 

I got all the disk for dos 6 and windows 3.1, along with a bunch of other floppies.

Hercules 3D Prophet 9700pro. Bought this card when it came out for ~470 euros. Broke it couple of years ago when trying to remove the cooling on the back. crushed a component

 

 

Creative Sound Blaster 128, some other sound card (always though it was sound blaster 64... not sure anymore), and 64MB pc66 RAM . Big one right?

 

all of it except the 9700pro still works. Actually have another 9700pro i found somewhere last year that still works. fan was broken but i replaced it.

Also should have a radeon 3650 around here somewhere but i couldn't find it .

You never know how weak a 512MB 3450 is until you have to use it do do 3D rendering with a Core 2 Duo, @Helly.

I'll be fixing up my old AXP build, that is when I can off my lazy butt to do it, I'll post some pics of it. Fully functionaly AXP 2800+ Barton + Abit NF-7 + HD3650 AGP. Will be transferring the parts from a POS case it to a recently discarded case (either a Sharkoon T28 or a CoolerMaster case).....

Giving this thread a small bump. So this isn't exactly old and retro but its not my newest gpu so that'll make it fit in the thread right?

I delidded my 560 Ti and have added it to the few other pieces of hardware sitting on my desk. Maybe one day I'll get bored and put the cooler back on and throw it in my rig to see if the temps are any different.

All I know is that its an 8-bit ISA modem. Its not that old since I found it in a Pentium 75mhz machine. Other than that I have no idea what speed it is, but I'm guessing 56k.

Its quite odd, usually modems have a Line and phone jacks, not just one port. Maybe they started cheaping out later.

I don't have any sadly, but by the time the MX400 was around geforce was better anyway, well except for that VooDoo 5500 monstrosity.

That would be overkill for a P3 lol. If I didn't have my Radeon 9600se I'd probably put it in the computer, but my P4 doesn't want to let go of it, and I wouldn't want it to
