The first item is a 5 1/4 inch floppy diskette "Minifloppy" manufactured be 3M, is single sided, coated with 2 µm magnetic iron oxide, and is a high density, thus providing up to 1.2Mb of data storage!

The following three images are of an early "Mechanical Sample" from an Intel Pentium "P54C" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P5_(microarchitecture) This chip was released before an actual engineering sample was even made. The retail chip featured 3.2 Million transistors, operated at 3.3 Volts, and had a whopping 120 Mhz clock speed (I kid you not).

We love shiny new stuff.

Ok just for you. I never did cable management since I built it at a buddy's house and he was getting impatient to play some farming simulator... lol.

E4500? yum. Currently have DDR2 in my system, so I can't show it off. Don't have anything old because I'm 12.

Very relatable.

Yup. Cuz I have the other core on my Sempron unlocked, and I OC'd it to 3.5GHz. Now I can use the 1360x768 resolution and not have the cursor jitter and lag around.

My school's stationery still sells them. I have no idea why, none of the computers can read them.

my first ever pc

at least what's left of it :D

too bad i didn't took better care of it, i'm regreting it now :/

just threw it in the attic and left it there for about 15 years now :o

and while it was there it also suffered the curiousness of my little bro, which tore it apart completely, all that's left is this :( (mobo and what appears to be a gpu, at least from the output connector :D)

i remember it had 133mhz processor with 166mhz turbo, the turbo button was next to the power and reset switch :D

it had cd tray and 3,5 and 5,25 floppy disk tray!

fun days

20140125165709.jpg

the glow of the back is magical!

you could almost play supaplex in real life!

20140125165750.jpg

20140125165800.jpg

and the gpu probably :D

20140125165916.jpg

20140125165925.jpg

it introduced me to supaplex, dyna man, popcorn and awesome games alike, internet was still a wild unknown thing to me, i think it didn't have anything to connect it with anyways

p.s.

i think it's gonna be 19 years old this year

placa-video-forsa-8500gt-1024mb-fsxfx850

that's a 8500gt. I've changed it when 4 capacitors exploded. over the course of about 3 months. only then it died

the card is 2 way sli compatible but they "blocked" that function by sticking a piece of duct tape over the connector:p

You guys are posting hardware that isn't really retro.. So if it counts I have a Geforce 8800GT 320MB card that I revived, modified, and put into my system. (I revived a second 8800GT and gave it back to my dad too.)

DSC00790_zpsef8af996.jpg

In stock form with new thermal paste it was running 230F under a benchmark. After I did this and stuck a fan on there it was running 150F under same conditions. But to have it fit in the bottom slot I had to take the fan off otherwise I wouldn't be able to have my ethernet card in there which I need since the onboard is stuck in sleep mode forever.
