I'm normally not a bragger or anything, but i'm so excited right now I have to tell people! I just got moved up from my lowly call center job to app and device support! This may seem trivial but this is my first actual TECH job! Also I have a bad history of trying factory and staffing jobs that I am bad at and getting fired from them, so getting moved up is a big change for me! I'm just overwhelmed with excitement and had to tell someone before I burst!

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

I recently moved up from an IT Help Desk phone support job so all I can say is get ready for a whole lot of PEBCAK issues xD unfortunately you can't fix users lol... seriously though congrats and hopefully it becomes a nice stepping stone to better things!

I've been stuck in a helpdesk job for the past 6 months and hate it, I'd much rather be doing development or field work than answering phone calls all day.

I also do a lot of tech stuff for friends and family, I really should start charging them haha. Formatting my friend's drive to install Windows 10 was a nightmare and took quite a bit of doing. Especially when none of the free software works and you didn't know(at the time) that Windows has a built-in disk management utility.

 

And then having to convert it from GPT to MBR took some doing, it didn't work in disk management or CMD. At long last, I did manage to install Windows on that drive. One of the more frustrating things I've done so far, getting my new system to work was a challenge as well(who knew Ryzen didn't have native Windows 7 support).
