When using all cores the clock speed runs at around base. The "boost" clock speeds are only when 1 core is running at 100%.

Edit: They just added the actual names to them apparently...

They did more than that.  They corrected the 3DMark scores for the Intel processors.

AMD themselves only claim and demonstrate Ryzen as having IPC equal to Broadwell, and the rumored clock speeds aren't as high as Intel's Skylake/Kaby Lake products either. So I don't think it's controversial to suggest Intel will probably maintain a per-core performance advantage over Ryzen.

 

I think it's unrealistic to expect that from AMD anyway. They don't have Intel's R&D resources and they don't have control over their own fabs. They may come at Intel hard on pricing, but I don't think anyone should expect them to win on raw performance. At least not in most applications.

Also it's a new completely new architecture, so I wouldn't expect them to come out of nowhere with huge IPC improvements and 4+GHz base clocks.  I'd assume that's what we have in store for the next generation.

 

I do see some really cool things happening in the future with XFR.

The 7700k at  stock is like 3000 higher on the physics score, that's like 33%....

3,2 vs 3,3 vs 4,0GHz is like 0 improvement.

Overall performance seems to be on pair with Intel, but single core performance still won't be great.

Was hoping on better result from single core performance.
