According to what? Fairly sure the Plus and non plus use the same platform. They even seem to use the same capacitors, at least on the 650W model, with both using a 105°C 400V 450uF bulk capacitor from Nippon chemicon. So the performance should be equal for both. 

Comparing the 550W version for regulation, ripple, noise and hold up time, the Focus Plus wins.

While SeaSonic is good, I was not very satisfied with my current RMA process. I chose advanced (cross-ship) and deposited $140. I will get a refurbished unit at the end at approximately 10 days after paying the deposit. Not very good, for an advanced RMA in my opinion.

 

Also do you think I should just use the refurbished RMA unit or buy the TX750M and sell that?

 

It was 660w platinum (SS-660XP2)

Just use the Platinum, it's a pretty good unit, no need to buy a new one

It mentions in the article that the units were given to them by the manufacturers, so I'd err on the side of caution with this one.

Even if it was improved you still don't know exactly what revision of the B3 you're getting unless the retailer specifies the manufacturing year.  It's like the green cx all over.

I bought an EVGA BR as a throwaway (it was $10 at B&H after MiR).  Mainly I want to use it for a test bench so it's not going to be stressed too much.

I know not a lot is known about it but it's MSRP is $50 and is DC-DC, so I'd hope it may be at least on par with BQ/B3.

It's probably not using the same platform as the current one if you bought it with with the cpu at the time.  I would try to replace it for being old, but it probably would work just fine.

I think the Snow Silent is a little better but somebody else can confirm.  If the focus plus is cheaper I'd get it though.  Both good psus.

It's old and not that great by today's standards, but if it works then keep it. It's not a crap unit so it'll probably die a relatively peaceful death without taking out your hardware with it.

That's somewhat assuring.

My budget just got tight, prefer to put the money towards X370 Taichi and replace the psu in upcoming few weeks.
