How do I not feel this way

Cactu

So I recentely built a pc and my friend practically copied my entire pc (peripherals included) except for the case and monitor and It really annoys because , well I don't know it just kinda annoys me that all my hadware is being straight up copied from me even though he is getting a GTX 970 for 1080p gaming when I got it for 1440p. I don't want to be annoyed so how do I stop

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

Seriously, who the fuck cares? They're parts. I'm sure other people have the same build. And, as you said, he got a different monitor and case. So it's not the same build.

Just because you took some parts from a list and put them together to make a fast computer does not mean that you have some sort of trademark/patent on the build. He could very easily have made his own build with the same specs just because he saw how good they ran for you, and it would be dumb for him to not go with the best performance because he fears that it would be "copying" you. Peripherals may be slightly different but you can't expect that since you bought a new PC, a new mouse, monitor, keyboard, etc. that you just pissed on the entirety of pcpartpicker and everyone who uses the same thing as you is copying you.

I don't understand what makes you mad, he likes your build because your build is awesome. He's your friend, so why don't you just accept it. You didn't create the list of parts, its not your hard work or anything. He copied a list, and you should be happy he built a computer, because... he was probably a console peasant before.

Get a harddrive that you are not particularly attached to. Install windows. Cover the entire desktop with as much porn as humanly possible.

Then switch out the pcs in the cover of darkness while twirling your mustache. And find an excuse to bring his family into his room as he boots up.

Or you could just get used to it... If you are boring..

Oh, so you actually invented those components?

Don't think so ;)

You should probably be flattered a bit, he obviously thought you made a good build, so he copied it

The fact that you think no one else in the world had your exact build is kinda hilarious.

Hell I copy a lot of video cards and cpu's and coolers for friends builds, because they are the best parts for the job and price.
