New Carrizo Benchmarks

Opcode

I'm guessing AMD pulled a driver move to make OpenCL 1.x run like 2.0 and just as well use some HSA stuff to have the CPU augment the calculations done by the GPU.

It doesn't matter at a driver level if the framework doesn't even support shared pointers. The validations were done on Sandra 19.50 which is over a year old (before OpenCL 2.0). Tho it will be interesting to see OpenCL 2.0 and HSA numbers built on top of this performance.

The GPU performance of Carrizo has been revealed and it's three times faster than Intel's fastest iGPU on the market. It's as fast as an R7 265 / GTX 660 / PS4 .

icKXdJE.png

And that is mighty impressive. The performance gains shown suggest a doubling in GPU IPC over Kaveri, this is suspected to be the direct result of HSA compliance. Not having to copy around the data back and forth between the CPU and GPu to achieve a common task could prove miraculous.

Is it legit? But that is amazing TBH

Holy shit. If thats true thats insane. The igpu of an a10 7850k is as good as a r7 250. An apu is actually going to be a viable choice for gaming if this is priced right.

too bad there will be no desktop variant...this would make for one kickass htpc or low end gaming system!

Good for what exactly? As a chip it isn't great because the architecture sucked even back then but the Pentium 4/Ds used to be great overclockers.
