There's a computer trade show-like gig going on in my neck of the woods, so I'd made my way there with my bud to check it out. Had no intention to buy anything as I'd already finished my Ryzen build and was in need of no additional parts. Made the mistake of walking over to the Creative booth to try out the new SXFI Theater headphone and was pretty impressed with the sound. The had a bundled offer for the SXFI Theater and Outlier Gold for about 209USD (converted from local $). I liked the SXFI Theater sound and since I'd always intended to get a truly wireless IEM, I figured, "Why the heck not?!". The earpads were provided free as a gift....

spacer.png

The RGB mousepad cost me just 18USD (again, converted from local $) so I grabbed it as well, I've not heard of Redragon, but their mech keyboards and mice seemed decent enough. My only regret is that I'd not grabbed a second pad as a spare as I like the RGB light show.

"Massive overkill." - Buildzoid.

I'm also getting an EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Black Edition, which will replace my GeForce GTX 1080 Ti as my main gaming card, but will stay in my system for the foreseeable future, as it is an excellent rendering card as well for Blender, where Cycles and AMD's Radeon ProRender can leverage multiple GPUs to speed up rendering. I'll post pictures when I get it at the door.

Picked up an RGB mousepad because it was A) super cheap, and B) will go nicely with my Logitech G203 Prodigy mouse.IMG_20190906_203011807.thumb.jpg.799180142989cd3c1bf03840c79dbab8.jpg

Also picked up a pair of Audio Technica ATH-S200BT Wireless On-Ear Headphones.

Only paid £29 when I see amazon sell them between £49-59 depending on what colour you go for, plus they are reviewed rather well for a budget set of Bluetooth headphones with a claimed 40hr battery life.

I got a PS2 memory card! But not just any memory card, but a 64MB memory card!

Nah, but seriously, the main attraction of this memory card is its inclusion of Free McBoot, which enables me to play Japanese Gran Turismo demos on real hardware!

I got a Blu-ray drive! Which is, to say, outside of my brothers' Xbox Ones and my older brother's PS4, is the very first Blu-ray drive in the house.

You can get a new BD-ROM drive for about $50. Mine I got used off of eBay and it was $30, complete with two-day shipping.

That's reasonable indeed! They're hitting the point where DVD drives became the standard optical drive and starting to flood the market. Good, good.

I really gotta get me one capable of ripping 4K Blu-Rays for my file server to use for Plex.

Then again, I also need to get drives for it so that I don't have every single damn port taken up while still slowly running out of space.

I bought an Inland 256gb NVME drive so I can do a nuke an reinstall of all my shit. Gonna move the OS over to the NVME drive.

I also got a 2qt All Clad saucier pan at Marshall's for a fucking steal of a price. Basically more than half off because it had a long but narrow shallow on the outside.

I been wanting that pan for a while now.

edit: The scratch was shallow, not narrow

Cooking rice with a special veggie/chicken broth I made. Was supposed to be chicken/veggie jelly for spreading on sandwiches. (think savory, chickeny jelly on an American cheese and balogna sandwich), but I didn't have any gelatin packets, so into the rice it goes!

I like it. Smooth action and the pump grip doesn't wiggle. Remington 870 Magnum. Based on the serial number I believe it to be of late 70's manufacture.

Just got back from a weekend trip to London so this is just a big post showing all of my main purchases. i'm a big fan of Jordan brand sneakers so I had to pick up the Tinker 3's when I saw them, also grabbed the jordan 1 low PSG for wearing to work as my old work shoes are trashed.

The levis jacket is something i had my eye on for a while and I only now pulled the trigger on it, jumper is just something I liked in one of the stores.

The Gears controller I picked up because I needed a new controller for borderlands 3 and wanted something more interesting than the usual black controller.

The final thing I picked up this weekend is a pre order for the super deluxe edition of borderlands 3 on PC. (Its technically not a london pick up since I bought it when I got home but still thought id add it to the post.)

Well... In my everyday life I'm most definitely living in the XXIst century ^o^

Then some WEs, it's either in the middle-ages or in some fantasy world depending on which Live Action RPG we're participating to. ^o^

Plus, my daughter loves Medieval Fairs, but is not really into the Live Action yet, BUT she wants to have her costumes all the same.. And it's more fun to go in a Mediaval Fair when you're dressed just like it... It makes you truly appreciate buttons and zippers ?
