EK Water Blocks is getting in the AIO game

As of now there is only a profile view of the AIO which (to my eye) does not have a pump integrated into the water block.

Their Predator AIO had the pump on the end of the rad.  Hope this version has the quick disconnects too.

Motherboard tier list. Tier A for overclocking 5950x. Tier B for overclocking 5900x, Tier C for overclocking 5800X. Tier D for overclocking 5600X. Tier F for 4/6 core Cpus at stock. Tier E avoid.

(Also case airflow matter or if you are using Downcraft air cooler)

Gpu tier list. Rtx 3000 and RX 6000 not included since not so many reviews. Tier S for Water cooling. Tier A and B for overcloking. Tier C stock and Tier D avoid.

( You can overclock Tier C just fine, but it can get very loud, that is why it is not recommended for overclocking, same with tier D)

I thought the EK Predator was already an AIO, so either the Predator/Phoenix failed badly that they had to retcon it from existence and start fresh or it never happened.

what do you mean "getting in" they have been in the AIO marked since at least 2015.

The AIO market, but not the CLC AIO market. Usually when people refer to AIO's they're pointing to closed loop systems. They do sell the full Kits which could be considered AIO's, but most people still consider that custom watercooling since you can modify and upgrade it.

Predator was a full fledged closed loop AiO. They just used different approach because of stupid patents. It was basically a custom loop performance in AiO package.

It had a quick disconnect and fittings on the tube on both the pump and RAD side.... It's an AIO, but not sure how that totally qualifies as CLC.

Alphacool Eisbaer has quick disconnect too, it's CLC AIO, it's prefilled and ready to use out-of-the-box, no idea about EK one, but moving the pump to radiator seems like a bad idea, it would hinder compatibility without any advantages. Although i think i've heard somewhere that Asetek has a patent for integrated pump+cold plate design so maybe they're doing that to get around it.

You can open up practically any AIO, replace the tubing and connect it to a bigger radiator, but it doesnt change the fact it was a closed-loop-cooler when shipped

The predator was a massive failure and had to be pulled so hopefully this is better

Search AIO water cooler in newegg, amazon, or google and see what pops up. Chances are you'll be searching for a while before finding what they were talking about.

What? You do realize that the reason for that is because the VAST majority of AIOs on the market are all made by a single company, right? There are very few that aren't and even less that use quick disconnects simply because there isn't a big market for it (not to mention it adds more potential points of failure, making it a bigger risk for companies). That has jack to do with terminology.

My point was not that they are incorrect, its that they are dragging the forum off topic because of me forgetting to put CLC AIO. When you say AIO to a computer person it is generally understood what an AIO is. Its like when you ask for a Kleenex and someone corrects you to tissue.

 

I do know that a majority of CLC AIOs are made with the Asetek design taht is why this one is interesting. There appears to be no pump in the water block so that would suggest that it isn't an asetek style CLC AIO.
