AMD Ryzen 3000 rumours are Adored

Love him or hate him Adoredtv just dropped an update of his rumours which have always been pretty close on the money. 16core base 3.6 boost 4.2 cinebench R15 score nearly 4300 damn and some news of 5Ghz possibilty. Please4 dont shoot the messenger this shit is getting real.

Not much at all other than 'it's announced at Computex and there WILL be a 5GHz part guaranteed'

It’s hard to tell. The 4.2 boost clock seems reasonable for an all core turbo boost on a 16 core part while the 4.7-5.1 turbo boost could be for a single core. I personally don’t think the Ryzen 3000 will boost to 5.1 running stock.

It's 5GHz all core, but only on the 12core

That sounds kinda very unrealistic, 5ghz single core is much more realistic, and with very good cooling 5ghz all core oc.

Kinda like ryzen 2000, the single core boost was 4.35ghz, and with good cooling you could make it your all core.

But @ColinLittley I wouldn't consider this tech news, it is all rumors, they might be real, i sure hope so, but AMD keynote is in 5 days. I will just wait for that.

I only see your reply if you @ me.

It's probably single core then. If it IS all core, dam

If I posted this I would get the axe in the balls.  I said from the beginning Ryzen would go to 16c and no one believed me and said it is boolsh*T they will only be 8 core.  16 core for under 500 dollars is amazing.  Intel is gonna get whacked if this is true.  I in no means say this is true but if it is,, thats 8 more cores for the same price of a 8 core 9900k.

A 9980xe at 4.4 Ghz gets 4400~ in C15, Ryzen 3000 16c at 4.2 Ghz got 4270~, that is CRAZY.

I heard it was 32 core but 6 Ghz boost.

My uncle works at Nintendo.

LOL what 32 core.  THen wtf ThreadRipper is dead ?  Still rumor but I think a Ryzen will first come as 8 core followed by 12 core possibly as that is still rumor.  Then in August the ThreadRipper will come in forms of 16c up to 32c and a special EPYC chip at 64 cores lol wowzers.  Talk about future proof.

Oh I just saw 16 cores for under 500 dollars doesn't make sense.  That is Intel HEDT level at 1500 less price.  Also taht 16c is 5.1 boost ?  Really ?  Hard for me to believe right now.

Did you forget about first gen ryzen launch. People said the same thing when the 8c ryzen matched the Intel hedt 8c for $700 less.

You make good sense.  Ya perhaps AMD wants everyone to celebrate in July and keeping hush hush is their way of doing this.

amd really pushed those single core clocks high with zen+, the voltage they need to achieve it is really high, which people aren't and shouldn't be wiling to have that voltage across all cores for long term use

If we assume the 12 core part is two 6 core chiplets with two 3 core CCXes in each chiplet, I could see 5 Ghz easily being 2 or 4 core boost. Remember that the XFR microcode is supposed to have improved yet again.

Isn't XFR either single, or dual core boosting?

Wonder if they'd have improved XFR to do 2-4 cores. So 5Ghz single, 4.5Ghz quad, and 4.2Gh all core. That, along with significantly better RAM support would be a fantastic upgrade for old 4-5 year old CPU bag holders like myself.

Just a question- lots of people say 5Ghz is not practical even on binned parts, but is that statement based on any real data? I think we just don't know at this point unless you have some insider info. None of us can verify these claims so it could go either way.

On the one hand I understand that people think 5Ghz boost is too good to be true. On the other hand it has been done before by both Intel and AMD. So it is believable.

And we saw what moving from 14nm to 7nm did for the Vega GPU architecture... 15% higher max clockspeeds just like that. Ryzen is making that same move from 14nm to 7nm and if we apply the same 15% gain then 5Ghz is on.

To reiterate- I don't know if we will see 5Ghz. Just saying it seems perfectly plausible based on available data, so don't be suprised.

It would be a big jump, but I think a lot of people have forgotten that new architectures are a lot easier to improve than long established ones. Everyone got used to the last ~5 years of Intel giving <5% bumps to IPC and clock speed and forgot that the first few Core generations had much more significant performance boosts.

That, and a lot of people probably don't want to get their hopes up, especially post-Vega.

While 5Ghz is certainly not guaranteed, I don't see anything outrageous about it, especially as single/two core boost clock.

xfr max boost is on one core per ccx, then it gradually goes down as more cores are used
