  1. wait for the 16inch with apple silicon. by then some of the bugs will have sorted out aswell, and the 2013 MBP is still quite capable.
  2. is there much of a risk if you are running the card on one cable for a day? since i am getting a second one tomorrow, but its killing me to just let the gpu sit there after all my anticipation..
  3. this beauty just arrived, and I was wondering what is meant with two separate PCIE cables. Up until now I have always used the cable attached below, which is one cable plugged into the PSU but with two pcie 8 pins coming off of it. Is this ok or do I need two separate PCIE cables plugged into the psu? https://imgur.com/a/hiCmavu EDIT: Never mind, I just found out that I need two!
  4. good. continue this for another month and let them sit on thousands of dollars of locked up capital.
  5. couple interesting things. For the german store at least there were never any cards actually sold. Nvidia literally just "pretend" launched these fucking GPU's. Scummy fucking company https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1306607754816049152
  6. we've been using proctorio and its a fucking nightmare. I couldnt even go to the bathroom during my summer exams because we were not allowed to "move". fucking lunatics
  7. yea... not sure why Nvidia only put 8GB on the 3070 and 10GB on the 3080, because otherwise I would have probably gotten either one ASAP. looks like im waiting for the 3080ti now...
  8. Hey everyone, I just recently moved to a new city for a two month Internship, and have discovered that for some godforsaken reason my apartment does not have any wifi. Why this is possible in the 21st century, I dont know, but that means I will have to rely on my mobile data plan for this time because installing a connection turns out to be quite expensive and also time consuming. Fortunately I do have an unlimited data plan, but it is pretty slow, ~1MB with 3 bars, and a lot of latency spikes. The latency spikes in particular are annoying because they effectively prevent me from playing
  9. I actually thought they would make the cpu significantly more expensive simply because they have absolutely no competition from intel at this level of performance. The price point is pretty "attractive"
  10. honestly those power draws are just absolutely incredible. 225W for a 64c cpu is unbelievable, even at 2.25 Ghz
  11. those requirements, frankly are delusional.
  12. The thing is, 4 cores were the norm because that was all that was available to game developers. Almost no one had more than 4 cores due to intel’s stagnation so there was no advantage to be gained from trying to make your game scale better with more cores. Now that 6-8 cores are becoming more mainstream games will eventually gravitate towards using those resources, although it might take some time
