How would it work if both co's are multi-national companies. They could literally merge in Kenya since there are no laws there, yet still sell in USA/Can/Aus/Russia where if they were there they could not.

Well I called it a rumor as opposed to a leak because it was pretty unrealistic in my opinion. However, the vast majority of tech news on this site only use one link

Imagine if only verizon and AT&T existed as telecoms and then verizon went to acquire AT&T.

That situation is actually more likely than this by a long shot.

Most likely false, but if it happened, I think the most likely scenario is Intel buying RTG (GPUs) But not the rest of AMD, because buying the CPU part would be blocked if the regulators have any sense in their minds.

That's a big if.

Or rather, more sense in their minds than money in their pockets.

With all the people leaving AMD's GPU division for Intel, practically feels like they are.

They probably didn't want to buy 9 years ago, hot off the FX launch.

Verizon and AT&T are both giants though. AMD isn't even 1/10th the size of Intel IIRC, and Intel has a lot to gain from buying them now that they're trying to get into the dGPU market. Plus I'm sure Intel's engineers would love to get their hands on that Zen 2 chiplet design.

you think AMD being smaller than intel will mean that the entire world is ok with only one cpu supplier existing? lmfao

Intel would only buy AMD's graphics division.  Their other businesses are of no value/consequence to Intel, because Intel already has complete market dominance in those areas.

I don't really feel like Intel has the confidence in their 10nm node not to want a piece of that sweet Zen 2 action.

Then they'd probably just cave and start buying from TSMC like AMD. I feel like they haven't because they do have confidence in their node.
