G2A and Kinguin are very, very shady.

Nuuvem is a really nice alternative, i bought a lot of keys from them and never had an issue, their prices are generally really nice as well.

I would suggest Steam itself. The game is only $22 CAD (so that would be $20 USD or less).

Oh look at this, it's on sale 50% off ($10 USD) on Green Man Gaming:

https://www.greenmangaming.com/games/rocket-league/

BTW, GMG is a legit official Steam Reseller. Unlike Kinguin and G2A, which are grey market resellers. Grey market resellers are at best, game keys resold that probably shouldn't be resold. At worst, they sometimes contain stolen keys, or keys purchased with stolen credit cards.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

On the Grey Market?
There's this site that search through both legitimate and grey market sites for the lowest costs.

BUT, always make sure you do not buy a key from someone with a very low rating/amount of sales. These people can't be trusted and may be using stolen credit cards to buy games/refund their purchase. The ones who are less likely do to so, are those with over 10000 ratings. You don't sell that many keys by being a jackass after all. I'd recommend looking at Steam first and compare the price, if the difference is only a few dollar/cents, ask yourself this "are the small savings worth the potential hassle if this blows in my face?".

For legitimate resellers? There's GreenManGaming, they often have coupon codes to lower the price even more, which is dumb AF because they advertise the coupon on their front page, yet don't apply it automatically.

Other than that, here's a long list of many other legitimate resellers, there's also this one.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

It was just on sale for 50% off last month, i'd just add it to a list and buy it when it goes back down again

muh specs

That is my favorite 'cheap' place to buy steam games.  Add to watchlist wait for sale.

Don't buy from resellers like G2A/Kinguin if you don't support theft. Buy from Humble Bundle if you really want to buy keys for cheap.

I use Arch btw

Their games are more expensive than those on steam. No thanks.

I see key trading/selling no different than buying from private individuals on eBay's. They are not Retailers but does it matter? Items they sell might be stolen but is eBay at fault here?

G2A is perfectly acceptable for key purcahses.

Oh, fck DRM and stupid licensing that curtails your ownership rights.

Depends, Steam can sometimes be cheaper and Humble can sometimes be cheaper. It all depends on what deals are going on when you check. Your alternative is a bunch of sketchy sites that support credit card thieves, are barely legitimate, and just about anyone can scam you on. So... yeah, I'd stick with Humble.

It's a lot harder to get scammed on physical resale sites. People have done tests where they just straight up post fake keys, and always get away with it. Either way I wouldn't buy from, say, eBay. I would buy from Kijiji if I wanted used products.

The difference between G2A and something like Kijiji is that with G2A, anyone can illegitimately buy a thousand keys and quickly sell them in a matter of days. Not that easy with a physical good. And then, the companies actually lose money, not just make no money.

Meh, I don't have much of a problem with DRM if it doesn't get in my way, although true it is pointless and doesn't actually stop piracy.

20 USD, I bought it for I think 5 or 10 when it was on sale. It's really not that expensive of a game.

Only if you buy at full price from the Humble store. I think he means wait for a Humble Bundle featuring the game.

Big difference is that eBay actively seeks out and tries to eliminate illegal activity and stolen goods. G2A and the like are pretty lax.

G2A shield. You shouldn’t need to pay for insurance to protect yourself against fraud. eBay offers their protection without making you pay for it.

Fully agreed. Hell, G2A have been ripped to shreds for not caring before. Just read this reddit thread.

Either way, it's pretty clear that G2A doesn't mind scammers and probably actually supports them because they're probably their biggest demographic. Not getting scammed isn't an extra, it should just be a feature.

No. Steam, GMG, Humble and Amazon are your best bets. $10.00 should be the lowest price you'll find anywhere. If you can wait until December 20, it's pretty much guaranteed to be on sale for around $10.00, possibly $9.95(to be the new historic low).

I mean, they charge you for scam protection. That’s not proof enough for you to see the moral bankruptcy of the platform?

There is also many instances of people putting up unverified keys and G2A not checking the validity of them. It seems be to a “don’t ask” policy.

They(eBay) remove listings that get flagged or reported and they thoroughly check all listings created for suspicious activity.

eBay won't honor buyer protection for digitcal goods either. G2A allow you to pay for insurance. On eBay, if key is defective, no protection for buyers.
