Jason 57 reacted to Nathanpete in How do I fix a really old pc’s cooling?
Old shitty bearings, and dust. Use compressed air, either with a incredibly skinny nozzle or low pressure, to clean it out. And go outside to do that.

it may be too late, but i think if u blow the air out from the back with a dust blower you should get most of the dust out and u can then clean the fans with IPA and paper towels…

I had the same "issue" with an AM3 cooler, which is very old, almost ancient, and i made it look like brandnew that way!

Probs just go right back up.
Anyone who is buying multiple gpus is most likely in for the long run and is unlikely to sell just becuase of a dip.

Definitely a job for PCPartPicker if the answer you’re looking for is not “a used one”.  The cheapest of cheap cases has been “just screw everything to the wall” for many years. It uses zero desk space and costs $0.  Looks terrible of course unless you like the look of “electro squid on the wall”. Some do.  It can actually be impressive to some.  Also there can be dust issues. Great airflow though 😛

    Pretty much.
RGB software can be fickle. I built my son an all MSI build, but Mystic Light wouldn't recognize his MSI keyboard, mouse, headphones or the case.
His Corsair memory wasn't seen either.
Just his MB and GPU were seen by the software.

It's funny, he asked for RGB stuff, but then doesn't make any adjustment????

Jason 57 reacted to Ramrod126 in So I built an abomination. What cheap material should I use to make the case?
I see wood being mentioned. With the current cost of lumber I might suggest 24 karat gold. Might be cheaper.

(Edit, for a normal closed case) 5900x is gonna be hot no matter what unless you manage to get an AIO on it or undervolt/clock it hard.

That being said, FormD T1 and SSUPD Meshilicious are two very good recent cases that are worth looking into.

Jason 57 reacted to CommanderAlex in Can you put ssd or hdd with things on them in to a new build?
    Welcome to the forums!!!

Sure you can reuse an SSD from a previous build, but just know that you may encounter issues related to drivers from your previous build on the new build. Personally would recommend formatting the SSD and reinstalling Windows on it, but back up any sensitive/essential data before formatting.

Install windows fresh on the SSD, and set the HDD to not boot.

everything will work waaay better then.

Hi, I thought you guys might like my concrete SFF case.

If this isn't the correct location for a post like this just LMK and I'll move it.

I have really liked the "tower" looking PC cases, and have done a few custom 3D printed ones in the past. I still wanted to fully commit to the tower look, so decided to build a form out of whiteboard sheet and cast a case out of concrete. I had an old thinkstation that wasn't being used much, so I moved that to this custom enclosure.

For the casting process, I have a build video here:

My eyes, that huge text isn't necessary.
It's a pretty unknown case. On Newegg it gets 4/5 eggs: https://www.newegg.com/p/2AM-0035-00049
Seems okay to me, pretty mainstream case design. At least it has some vents at the front. You can't really go wrong easily on a case. What's the price for it though?
I also suggest watching some YouTube reviews on it first.

I just googled your exact product names.

First one I got their website and just scrolled down a bit to find

Second one came up with multiple hits for the product name, but the Amazon page had this on it:

While this one is very not clear with what the dimensions are referencing, I can tell you the 160mm is standard ATX tower cooler height limits so it's safe to say it's 160mm.

Whichever one you want. Both are fine cases; they're steel boxes with mesh fronts, side glass and have pre installed fans. For most gamers, that's all they need.

Jason 57 reacted to Stahlmann in thoughts of thermaltake H200 snow?
Look at the front panel. The components you want need cooling. Unless the air is drawn from the 5th dimension (which Thermaltake tried in the past to no avail) this case has next to no airflow. Get something with a mesh front like a Phanteks P300A/P360A/P400A/P500A, Fractal Meshify series, be Quiet Pure Base 500DX, etc.

I don't use RGB fans myself, so I don't have go-to. Corsair ML series is good, but also pricey and you are going into Corsair ecosystem. upHere is good brand of the cheaper options. Just make sure you get pack which uses standard connectors as in is compatible with mobo controls.
