seiny reacted to ahhming in AMD Announces New 32GB FirePro S9170 Server GPU
Based on the second-generation AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) GPU architecture and gpu is able to deliver up to 5.24 TFLOPS of peak single precision compute performance while enabling full throughput double precision performance, up to 2.62 TFLOPS of peak double precision performance.
The FirePro S9170 is touted to deliver up to 40 percent more performance than the "competitive solution" while using 10 percent less power.
No HBM memory here, instead, 32GB GDDR5 is used. The card is passive cooled and requires an airflow of 20 cubic meters per minute – which any current server setup should deliver. Users shouldn’t experience any thermal restrictions or throttling if cooled according to specifications.
