Don't know if this counts but I just read on here someone asking if an HDD can be overclocked..

I've used this method to 'activate' Win 10 on 3 different PC's...it's always gone pretty smoothly and usually doesn't cost more than $5.

Microsoft store, Newegg, any other retail store. Rest are not what I would call reliable.

You probably shouldn't get a 9700K at this point, either go Ryzen or wait for the new Intel CPUs.

eBay is where I got my keys. If they don't work then eBay will likely cover you. You can also check the seller's ratings.

You can use any old Windows 7 or 8 key to activate a Windows 10 install. Could even be an OEM key you find on the sticker of an old PC/Laptop...
Really isn't worth buying Windows these days!

> Already has 2080 Super
But those are all top of the line parts...
anyway... by the time most games use more than 8 cores, your concern will not just be the difference between 9700K and 9900K.
If your main task is to play games, get a 9700K and it will be great for a while.
If you don't already have a motherboard, why not a 3700X or wait for 10900K (or w/e the name will be)?

Perfect, that was my only worry. I wanted him to have the smoothest installation process as possible.
He will actually be gaming in his bedroom, So size shouldn't matter? lol. He wanted a nice big case with RGB (Corsair) but it was out of his budget. I told him down the road he can upgrade it.

If this is a gaming PC, the 970 evo is way too expensive. You can get a Crucial P1, an intel 660p, a sabrent rocket, or a WD blue and they'd all deliver the same experience as that 970 evo since you're not handling huge files. The PSU can also be cheaper, opt for a TX550M or RM550X. That'll still give you a ton of room to upgrade in the future and the power supplies are of great quality.

- Settle with a decent b450 motherboard instead of the x470.
- 750W is a bit too much for that bump it down to a good 550W psu.
- Ditch the Samsung Evo for something like a Crucial or WD Blue.
- Use the extra money you've saved to get an RTX 2060 if your budget still fits.

5700XT will perform a bit better than the 2060 Super - if you prefer 2060 Super, that's fine. Same price basically

BrygonSan reacted to divito in Will CORONA VIRUS cause inflation of PC Hardware prices
So price and scarcity are not part of economics?
There are many companies, industry people and even sports leagues that have been interviewed about how their logistics, supplies, and other things are impacted and some areas where they are sheltered from any potential impact. Some companies have operations that have had to be shut down and some where they are in very different areas.
While the OP's question wasn't phrased in the best way, he specifically mentions factories being closed, and whether this can lead to some price increases and if it affects things by Intel and Nvidia. No part of his question berates or insults the effect this is having in the world as you're implying.

So a lot of factories in CHINA are closed due to CORONA VIRUS Outbreak can this lead to increased prices of PC hardware . Can AMD ryzen 4000 have inflated prices ? What about intel / nvidia ?

Buying an ssd and installing your windows on that is the only way to overclock storage if you have an Hdd now.

BrygonSan got a reaction from kiksaa in Drivers for new pc build?
Windows installs the default drivers already but it is recommended to go to the manufacturers website and download the drivers there. Main thing you need is the Audio , lan and chipset.

BrygonSan got a reaction from kiksaa in Drivers for new pc build?
I was just answering your questions.
Follow this link to download your motherboard drivers. If you need to install drivers for your motherboard just go to the manufacturers website and lookup your motherboard to install the drivers. All I typed in google was "motherboard update drivers for msi b450" and it gave me this link.
https://us.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450-TOMAHAWK#down-driver
Hope this helps!
