IMO this man who gave the thumb drive to the newspaper Reporter has just committed a crime whether he likes it or not

It is considered to be a federal crime, punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years, to disclose national defense information to someone who is not entitled to receive it.

The Newspaper reporter and company is also guilty of leaking the information on the newspaper as well

Yes the original owner of the USB drive will have his head rolling on the ground for losing this sensitive data

But this not only endanger the life of the queen but also her direct family members who are flying in and out of the airport.

Not to mentioned now terrorist will easily get information of the travel patterns and plot an attack on Heathrow Airport

Sucks to lose your job, but I can't work out why he didn't tell her not to film.  That would be the first thing I would tell any offspring of mine, especially if they maintain their own vlog ffs.

    Apple designs their own:
    Audio chipset
    SSD controller
    Thunderbolt controller
    USB Controller

And many of the other miscellaneous microcontrollers that are on their logic board. There are alternatives, but they're not off the shelf hardware.

And the dGPUs Apple currently use aren't off the shelf either, they're derived from the Radeon FirePro/WX lineup, but are modified specifically for Apple's machines. Much like the Surface Book's 940mx or the Alienware Alpha's 860M+.
    Maybe reread my comment.

Not everything in Apple's products can be replaced with true off the shelf parts without incurring issues.

    Not without introducing instability.

The best kind of camera is one that you always have on you when you need it.

    False.

If I'm at a concert that bans 'big' cameras, I care that my phone will get a good shot of the band.  If I'm at a going-away party for a friend and it would be rude/intrusive to carry a big camera to the pub, I care that I can take a decent photo in low light.  And if I'm out and about and just happen to see an interesting photo subject, I still care about getting a good shot without needing perfect lighting or a stationary object.

Unless you want to make a case for everyone always carrying a large dedicated camera everywhere they go 'just in case,' you should probably just admit you're wrong and move on.

Lol, I think she’s just being fierce. ?
What do you mean a real camera? The iPhone’s camera has a lens cover, a six element lens arrangement, and a backside illuminated CMOS sensor which makes it a real camera like a dSLR. So I don’t know what makes the iPhone’s camera fake or not a real camera. ?

atrash reacted to 79wjd in I kind of marvel Apple
A lot of it has to do with the fact that previous attempts usually aren't anywhere near as good -- fingerprint scanners existed on the Atrix 4G in 2011~, but it wasn't particularly good, Touch Bar style interfaces have been present on many laptops throughout the years, but again, the integration was basically non-existent and they didn't work well. Something like that tends to be true for a lot of the things that Apple has "innovated".

And a lot of people just don't care about alternatives to Apple because they've just had such terrible experiences with them.

Plus, most other companies really do suck at marketing. I've seen virtually no ads for the S8/Note 8.

Or it could also be true. The original Apple watch as i recall had alot of performance issues that were solved by the succeeding generations of watches. Apple has always been amazing at their chip designs, if you notice without a coloured mind and im pretty sure they intentially upgraded Series 1 chip because they thought it would be a good idea rather than normally keeping the exact same old model.

Apple Watch is pretty much the best wearable there is at this point and Apple has the entire market like how it does with the iPad, with only Gear S3 being very slightly comparable. And it has saved alot of lives, so thats even a bigger plus point

All are 50/60 Hz panels, so they will all judder with 24 Hz material.

Another downside of the Sharp is the lack of 4:4:4 color support at 4K 60Hz, but most thunderbolt to HDMI dongles don't support this anyway (check if yours does).

I'm reading the linked article and it does show that they tampered the digital signature and have injected a code to bypass AV detection by the DLL file [CBkdr.dll]. From the article too, the malware will terminate itself if it has determined that the user is not using an administrator account. If in the unfortunate event that the user is using an admin account, it will write itself in the registry and begins gathering system information.

So it looks like a conduit for other malware. Also, collecting system information? That might range from passwords or credit card information to login credentials. It could be an instrument for an APT with the usual targets are corporations and government agencies. But then I could be wrong.

A year doesn't seem like a long warranty, so much for taking pride in the quality of your product... In the EU, consumer electronics cannot offer less than two years unless sold as refurbished or similar.

However, as long as 1 year warranty is legal in the US, they don't have a case. The argument of the carrier contract is ridiculous: first, you can buy an unlocked phone directly from Apple, buying through the carrier is a (dubious) choice. Second, if you choose to buy from the carrier, it is the carrier who imposes the 2 year minimum contract in return for "financing" your purchase. Hence, if you think locking you for 2 years for buying a product with a 1 year warranty is wrong, it is you carrier you should complain to. You cannot just go to a store who offers 5 year loans, purchase the phone there, then tell the manufacturer that you "reasonably expected" the warranty to be 5 years, even if it's clearly written what the warranty of the product is in the relevant warranty booklet or whatever.
But if "I expected instead of reading" is to be accepted as an argument, then one again it should be aimed at the carrier, which is who designed the 2-year arrangement and therefore drove your expectations. It's insane to complain at a manufacturer based on the practices of your retailer of choice (just like it would be to blame the retailer for the faults of the manufacturer).

atrash reacted to GoodBytes in Apple tells a judge their phones are only guaranteed to work for 365 days
You guys are going out of context. For the region where the question was asked, the device has a 1 year warranty by default. And therefore, Apple is legally obligated to ensure that the device works in that period, else repair it or replace it. After that period, Apple doesn't need to care. Although, they probably target 2 years, for regions that requires it, as the device is sold worldwide, and also cover themselves for Apple Care.

Apple will deal with countries and regions that requires longer warranties, where they can be very stiff in covering you, or do it at a loss, paid back by other regions.

Why don't you go blame capitalism for forcing us to seek new markets to fill even if they're a pure waste of human resources?
