I'm pretty sure the H100i comes with it pre-applied.

i would certainly do that, i wouldnt even try load tbh, see if it is tight in place, and make sure pump is working properly, from my experience you can feel the water moving through the tubes.

I think you have your backplate wrong, common mistake (made it myself too)

There are 2 spacings in it at one side, the 2 top screws of the socket should be there. Check that first.

Pre-applied thermal paste sucks. You might be able to spread it out better by twisting the waterblock back and forth a couple times to squish it out.

i think im better off with aftermarket paste

Arctic silver is one of the best.

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend Arctic Silver. It used to be the very best, but now there's very little difference between it and cheaper solutions. There's also TIM like MX-4 which performs just as well, but doesn't have the same risks of conductivity.

Much heat, much trouble :D

Try to remount the cpu block, also feel if the tubes are mildly warm.

Maybe try to read the pump speed? There is a 3-pin plug with 1 tiny wire, that one gives you the pump speed.

Nono, it's 69 :D But aside from trolling, it might take a while. But you should be able to use it right away.
