Do Canadians say Canadian Rupees instead of dollar ‘cause I heard Linus saying Canadian rupees multiple times before instead of Canadian Dollar?

sorry for bad english

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_dollar

The Canadian Currency is the "Canadian Dollar" (CAD). Linus calls them Rupees as a joke, because compared to the US Dollar, they've lost quite a lot of value over the last 5+ years.

Yeah, you’ll often hear these other expressions as well:

- Canukistan dollars

- Canadian pesos

Nope... Literally never heard anyone other than Linus actually say that out loud.(or someone writing it on the forum)

There are certainly some slang that make reference to money, but Canadian rupees is just a joke Linus is saying to refer to the exchange rate with the US dollar.

Agreed - if it is pre-existing slang, it's certainly not in common use throughout Canada. I also have never heard it used outside of LTT and the forum.

No

We say

Loonie for $1 coins

Twoonie for $2 coins

We say "a Borden" for $100 bill

In 2000 they stopped with $1000 bills

I used to have a paper drivers license, liquor stores were closed on weekends, smokes from a vending machine, smoke anywhere you wished to,

The funny with Linus is he quotes usd and yet is in canada and he or his staff never wear a poppy for respect. Newscasters wear them. Odd.

A true professional would use USD in prices, very easy and simple.

Today the Canadian Dollar is worth $0.76 USD. 5 Years ago, it was worth $0.96. Before that it actually broke parity and rose in value above the USD for a while.

Typically our Dollar is tied closely with the price of oil, but Canadian Oilsands oil (Western Canada Select) is almost worthless these days (usually $20-$30 cheaper per barrel then normal oil), so even though the price of oil has rebound significantly since the recession, our dollar is still on the weak side.

It's good for tourism though.

That's true, but Remembrance Day still honours their (well, all Veterans) sacrifices every year. Plus Poppy's aren't specifically for WW2. Poppy's are for veterans in general.

With that in mind, lots of people don't wear poppy's anymore. Most typically just don't think about it. So it's not like Linus is actively avoiding wearing one on purpose.
