I bought quite a few things in the affected dates, but haven't gotten an email. I wonder if it doesn't affect orders paid with PayPal.

I purchased a hard drive on September 2 but that was through PayPal. I think I should be good.

Gotta handle PR. I hope the title isn't too rough on them. I still will continue to use them as my PC part retailer. Zero days and other breaches happen, significantly worse information could have been stolen and a significantly more users could have been affected. There will never be a 100% breach free website.

@Newegg_Support Hope all this news isn't overwhelming your support agents too much. Associate Soft drink or Pizza day for them maybe? :)

Close! My last purchase was in July, but I always used paypal anyway.

Feels bad for anyone caught by this, just one of those things that can happen to anybody.

Network Security seems to be the industry to get into guys, no one is safe from network breaches.

Hope no one is badly affected by this.

II hope you didn't click on any links in the email. You should always go to PaPal (or anyone else) yourself, not through email links.

I made a purchase in that time but paid with Paypal so I should be safe. Being the coward I am, though, I changed my Newegg and PayPal passwords just to be on the safe side.

I'm not worried about my card. I use a separate account for internet purchases and put money in as needed. I keep a small amount in it to minimize the amount a hacker may be able to access and my Credit Union will cover any loss from identity theft.

Yep, they're essentially the new weathermen. Get paid to secure the network/website and then get paid to do cleanup after it's eventually breached xD

Funny you should say that because uBlock blocked me from the redirect from clicking on the email links.

Welp, my last purchase on Newegg was August 1. I am safe right? My account info is still protected even thought I haven't purchase anything between August 14 to September 18?

I also bought some items during those period. What I don't understand is, do they steal your CC info as you're filling it out or they still steal those that's already saved.

From TechCrunch's article

Quote

Anyone who entered their credit card data during the period should immediately contact their banks.

Lasership lost my package 3 times. It was only delivered when we called amazon and made them use FedEx.

They posted it and they didn't send an email to anyone about it or notify anyone on the site.

not only that this is a very short FAQ and it only provides us things we heard before. they didn't say anything about if accounts with card data saved without checking out during that period or if PayPal users are affected

well im not buying from them i guess if their support is this shotty
