I don't think these are *that* old, but I'll post here anyways. (sorry for shitty res, i took these with my old phone back in 2016)

These are all trash-picked, my dad found them in the recycling bin at his workplace. My best guess as to what this used to be is a workstation PC.

Ah yes, the motherboard. Unfortunately the CPU is soldered so I couldn't replace it.

See the long slot? That's where the CPU goes. What you think is the CPU really is just the North Bridge. And that motherboard is a Dell OEM Intel SE440BX-3 (mine is the 440BX-2, it has onboard Yamaha audio+is missing the Dell power connector+an extra ISA slot+NB Heatsink)

BTW, this is the best CPU for it: http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Pentium-III/Intel-Pentium III 600 - 80525PY600512 (BX80525U600512).html

I don't think that board would handle Coppermine Pentium III.

Edit: Also, that RAM is just plain SDRAM, and is what you can use with the SE440BX.

My "I can't believe it hasn't caught fire" machine. Note that the PSU has its connectors falling apart, and even admits that it's hazardous :P.

BTW when I get a new PSU, it will be dual booting Windows XP+10.

Who doesn't love 775? :D

It's a fun socket! So many possibilities. You can build capable machines like a OC'd q6600 with something like a 1050ti, or you could do stupid shit like put a Pentium 4 with a 1080ti. Like seriously, can someone PLEASE do that? I WANNA SEE THAT MONSTROSITY!!!!!!!!!!! Also overclocking duos and quads is just fun. I remember when I got a p5b and I moved my duo from a acer board to it and starting learning overclocking. I took my duo from 2.1ghz to 3.2ghz and I felt like A GOD, IT WAS SO AWESOME! That was back when Dolphin (gamecube emulator) was a lot more un-optimized and that difference made me go from not being able to play it to being able to run all sorts of games. After the OC many hours were wasted playing Melee and Kirby airride in glorious 900p. Ah I could nerd out about 775 for hours!!!

Not to mention they've become so cheap that if you fry one it's no biggie. When I got my first quad used it cost 60$, and being a broke teen it was A LOT. Now you can score them for like 12$ and even find them in all sorts of trash piles. AAANNND on top of all that they can take up to 8GB of RAM which is a perfectly fine amount of RAM to this day. A OC'd quad with a good GPU, SDD and 8GB of RAM feels so nice to use.

I own like 12 duos and 8 q6600s. And that's AFTER giving many away to family and selling some. xD

This isn’t as dated as the other hardware here (some snobs on here beg to differ lol) but I upgraded my Q6600 rig with an FX6300, Crosshair V Formula, 8gb of DDR3, and a HD 6950. Performs way better than all my old stuff. Edit: forgot to say that this is my first ROG board. It's nice and all but idk what the hype about rog stuff is all about. Just seems like marketing gimmicks to me. I sure do miss my old 990fx-UD3 though

Some of my 56K PCI modem cards in order of age, note that the card on the right in the first image is a Puretech card, and the one on the left in the second image is a D-Link card. I also have a second one of the netgear cards floating around somewhere (apparently they load webpages up to 40% faster than the others due to compression).

Also, I'm going to dig up my serial/parallel port based 32K and 56K modems as well (both Netgear and of different ages). I have to decide which old desktop to install them into (the Netgear card automatically goes with my Asus P5Q Deluxe-Windows 95 through XP drivers).

I have a bunch of photos to edit and stuff to write before I update my build log, but I thought I'd show you guys the latest:

1200.thumb.jpg.dd2fc9ef99d348545a008d999f6b4167.jpg

Pentium 4 2.4C

Asus P4C800-E Deluxe

OCZ PC4200 (that's DDR1)

GeForce FX 5900

All that's left for Phase 1 is to volt mod the motherboard. The P4C has notorious voltage droop. Even with the vcore pumped crazy high it drops below stock on load, so to get where I'm going I'll have to even that out... in the meantime:

So close I can taste it!

And while it's not stable enough to boot into windoze...

How about a Celeron 1.8GHz (775 chip lel) and a 7950? Had to run that for a while on my second PC over the summer since I couldn't find my Q6600...

They were actually netcomm 56k modems. Got the cables in storage but I'm missing their power adapters.  I've also got the (I think dead) 56K modem card from my Packard Bell, and the firewire 400 card that my mum bought for her old laptop to use with her camera (it actually had USB 2.0 and firewire 800 integrated-but she didn't know that mini firewire was a thing), and its box which got thrown out recently had a Windows XP compatible sticker slapped on, since it was originally intended for Windows 98+Me+2K.
