I'm actually not sure what card this is.

I meant to look for a model number on it yesterday when I took the picture, but I got side tracked and forgot.

Either way, I replaced the thermal paste on it and boy were GPU coolers stupid back then. I can't imagine this thing did much. The heatsink was the lowest quality I've ever seen. It almost felt like plastic.

If you plan on using that for anything or you just wanna pretty it up, you could get a heatsink from ebay for like 3$ that'll make it a lot better. They'll take a while to get to you because you'll most likely be buying from china, but still. I bought one for my 9600XT and I love it. The card looks prettier and runs cooler.

Nice, but nah

it's going in a work computer.

I'm replacing my dad's computer with a VR compatible one and he wants the old one to go to the office.

It's CPU didn't have onboard graphics though and I'm pulling the GTX 970 out of it for the new computer, so I pulled this out of an old dell that was going to the scrapyard anyways.

I am not sure those are considered "retro" (no offense I really don't like negitive statements online because they seem so harsh) but when I think of retro I think back to the 90s or 80s back when AMD reigned supreme.

Please don't argue with me, I am just trying to help, or be helped. (we are all humans right?)

Probably the PSU-my 386 had a blown fuse in it, while the PSU from my K6-2 had a blown fuse, multiple failed caps and a dead fan (it smelled worse than the caps).

Not sure if it could be called as old, but I've already put the somewhat-together 750Ti on here. That's an Asus Mars 760 I got off of ebay for around $170. Always wanted a dual-gpu card and now I have one.

This is my amiga 2000.  The silver dell underneath actually acts as a hard drive of sorts connecting over a null modem connection from serial to parallel.  Neat tech.

Is that a GX520/620 I see down there as well?

Ohhhh yeah thats a bit of a science project.  All the capacitors are blown on the board but it still works.  Bios utility even lets me OC a little bit and the thing doesn't bitch at all.

What constitutes as old?  I don't really know since I use all of my "old machines" almost every day.

Its from the last of the optiplexes that weren't shit.  The precision's were always good, but the optiplexes were garbage after 2004.

My OptiPlex army (2x 330, 2x 780, 1x 755) have always worked perfectly. I’ve not had much experience with the Precision line.

Meh.  Dell's aren't that interesting past 1998.  And even then they're just kinda meh.  The BTX machines are cool, but only if you're gunna hack them and make them OC on air and all sorts of crazy stuff like that.  But, nah, they're either to well built or they die in a week.  I don't like dells very much so I hardly pick them up just because they aren't trustworthy.  Now you got some IBM?  Apple?  Lenovo?  HP?  Doing something really cool?  Aight I'm game.

And by HP I mean like NW8000 age :P

HP? I don’t like HP very much. I’ve got an IBM PS/1 Model 211. I’ve got too many Apple computers to name, I’ve got an old ThinkPad that doesn’t work right. Dell is my favourite (look at my title).
