Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Shit sorry, they dropped the V12 in the SL's. Not the S's. My bad.

Oh good,. You scared me for a sec  i thought the S class dropped V12s. Those can make huge amounts of power and they're kinda what made the S-class unique since the 80s

Dang 6L V12? that's actually quite massive. but no, they thought that wasn't enough, so they stuck twin turbos damn.

Meanwhile in Portugal

attachicon.gifmeanwhile in portugal.JPG

99K Euro = 150K CAD because our exchange rates are terrible right now LOLOL

But paying S63 money for a Diesel is just silly. Then again, they do have to cater to different markets and trends sooooo.

Not really.. that's not a lot of displacement per cylinder or total displacement in general.

My V10 is 6.8L, but lacks the turbos and makes ~2/3 the HP.

Call me crazy, but I would probably still take a CLS63 over a S550.

As someone whose best friend owns and dailys a C63 507 Sedan, I can vouch for that. Also ridden shotgun in a W204 black series - the noise is hard to beat, even with a stock exhaust.

Had a go in both the AMG GT and W205 C63 S - its not the same motoring experience, but the quality is there.

I have always preferred the ridiculousness of the C63 sedan.

also thought I'd share this - it's been here a while so I've been desensitized to it, but a very nice, (as far as I know) authentic, and rare car

Just cause I'm nice, here's what the M156 sounds like on Canada's fastest track. Toronto's exotic and luxury community is growing exponentially and there are always nice cars at meets and track days - get to know the right people, and you'll come across some unique opportunities.

@MEC-777 in case you haven't been to CTMP :P

Edit: regarding the W205 coupe - the humpback looks well proportioned compared to the sedan, but you can't get around the interior with the random touchscreen in the dash and CLA-45 styling. Also, can't stand the new UI and they put the gear selector on the steering column.

one question: WHY. Honestly i see no point bc their competitors are still using V8s.

Probably trying to get ahead of the curve. Next 5-10 years are gonna make it hard for manufacturers to make V8s that can meet the emissions requirements in the US.
