Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

You need to rebudget your life.

Here's a good starting point. Act like you make 3/4 (or even half) as much as you actually make.

So when you get a check in; put 1/4-1/2 in a savings account and do not under any circumstances touch it. Learn to live on less than you make. This is gonna mean you're gonna have to spend time waiting for things instead of "I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW!" but you'll learn a lot from it and grow stronger in your ability to make do in tough circumstances

What % do you save? This sounds like an interesting idea.

It really depends on the automaker, but I believe many will recommend taking it easy the first few thousand miles, and avoid long constant RPM trips... so basically don't road trip across the US with a brand new car.  This was for Honda I believe.

Basically just do your usual short commute, though I doubt too much would happen either way.

Thats weird, because Honda breaks in their motors from the factory.

That's the first I've heard of it.  Interesting considering I ended up looking up a 2010 Honda Civic owner's manual and it has a specific section on break-in periods.

tl;dr:

-Take it easy first 1000km. (Damn I was wwwaaaaaayyyy off)

-avoid being a race car (no full throttle silliness)

-avoid being a race car (avoid slamming the brakes every chance you get (300km))

-Do not change the oil until the car tells you to.

Damn strange if they do break the engines in before assembly.  Oh well. lol

Still reasonable advice considering the manual goes on to mention rebuilt or exchanged engines as well as brake replacements.

It's really nice. I've had Spotify Premium for about 3.5 years. I have the family plan which is $15 a month. Which accounts for 5 premium memberships. For myself, the gf, and 3 friends. Being able to remotely control your PC streaming music is also super nice

Its likely aggressive to prevent detonation because of direct injection.

I think they've done it for fuel economy. You can noticeably tell when it's changing the waste gates instead of dropping a gear. It feels the same but you're still in say sixth gear. Even if you progressively press the pedal down instead of shunting it the waste gates aren't progressive. :/

Makes acceleration not very smooth, dunno if Ford has changed that on the newer models.

Look into it before you just say it'll blow your motor.

Tunes don't just blow engines.

Yeah but I still need to take it in for the recall with the intercooler. Don't need a sparkplug going to be even worse because muh boost and more fuel for horsepowerz.

They have tunes that only minimally add horsepower. And mainly just smooth stuff out and increase MPG. They have something for everyone

Is there still an intercooler shortage for that?

You could always throw an email their way and see if they can work with that. Worst case scenario they say no

I don't know about cars, but with motorbikes the manufacturers often break in the engines and rev the nuts off of them at the factory. Either in an engine dyno or a chassis dyno.

Stock coolers - The sound of bare minimum
