Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I think I remember he claimed he took the photos he was posting. I did a google image search on one of them and found it all over the net. Was gonna call him out but I'm pretty sure everyone here knew that already.

At least I know what dial up was like. It was just phasing out when I was old enough to comprehend what it was lol

I also was around cassette tapes and VHS, and CD's of course, oh and my grandma had a rotary phone still until she got rid of her landline completely for a cell phone (that 40 year upgrade cycle tho)

I had dial up for quite some time after we got broadband here. My friends and I played flash games online and I had to preload like 15 minutes in advance cause everyone else had good internet. My parents weren't exactly well off back then. I think we finally upgraded back in 04 or 05. I'd even download shit off the school computers onto an x-d card reader and bring it home.

and my speeds have remained the same since then.

Been really thinking about getting a bike recently, especially since my friend just got a new one. They're just so fun to ride and so good on gas.... Just something used and already beaten up so I can grow on. Of course I'm stupid and want a YZF-R6 but I'm sure I'll be scared shitless enough that I won't even touch 6K RPM. All that scary power is at 13-15K RPM anyway.

But I posted an ad to trade my AW11 for a 600 bike or whatever else. If any of you have a bike let me know I might even drive a distance. When I turn 18 next month my AW11 will be in my name so I can do as I please with it.

You can't get rid of that beauty

That's terrible at least my GT after almost full exhaust intake and a tune made 240hp and about 300ish torque at the wheels. Raise your boost to make that mpg worth it!.. Yet again the 2v 4.6 was trash and wasn't worth the mpg either but it's one of the better sounding mustang engines. My eco boost manages 310hp and 320tq at the crank with 30mpg. Man tech sure makes big advances as time goes on.

I was also beating the hell out of the car out of frustration after a 12 hour shift when I took that photo

Next couple weeks I'll be gaining 95hp and 85lb/ft of torque

Yeah, lets just up the speed limit to points where the g-forces of an accident will just straight up kill you. Would really be awesome if soccer mom sally in her brand new volvo was too busy trying to figure out how to turn on the AC and crossed the center line into an oncomming car killing everyone.

You're not understanding what I'm saying. I'm not saying to increase the limits to crazy speeds. The truth is people speed everywhere all the time, regardless, because the current limits on many road are unreasonably low and very loosely enforced. Soccer mom Sally already drives at 20 over in her new Volvo while trying to figure out the AC.

Accidents will always happen regardless. Saying raising the limits will increase accidents and fatalities is unfounded. It will actually decrease them because you'll have more people driving the same speed, vs now where you have some people insisting on driving the limit while frustrating those who know they can get away with going 20 over. There are A LOT of roads that have unreasonably low limits with the intent to "make it safer", but the reality is it causes more problems and unsafe conditions as a result.

Traffic flowing at the same speed, collectively, is far safer than traffic flowing at various speed. You're Sally soccer mom crossing the center line has nothing to do with speed, but is a completely different problem (distracted driving).

Rules are meant to be broken xD

If they raise the limits, people would probably still do 20 over and not give a shit about it.

Cops should just ignore people doing 20 over if there are conditions to do that and not put others lives in danger. If the 20 over do put other people at risk, then go ahead, give them a ticket, a warning, something. Just don't give those to someone doing 10 over just because you haven't given a ticket in that day...

2 cents from a 17yo fgt that can't drive legally. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

People won't go 20 over if you raise the limit because A) if you properly enforce the limit, so going 20 over nets you a $200 fine instead of a $50 fine, people will learn real quick, the limit is the limit. And B) People won't feel the need to go much faster because the limit would be more reasonable on those particular roads.

Thanks for making think of this video again. One of the biggest issue that I have American drivers isn't that they do/don't speed. It's their lacking driving discipline.

Teach new drivers to always strive to keep themselves in the right-most lane as much as possible, unless passing, in which case you should always pass on the left.

And for God's sake, teach people not to use their phones while driving. But this may have to be taught the hard way with tickets.

Increasing speed wouldn't suddenly make everyone travel at the same speed. There may be less speeders, but there will be much more slow drivers. That is more dangerous and disrupts the flow of traffic a lot more than a speeder especially if they are camping in the left lane.

Faster speeds mean faster g-forces. Its pretty simple. A crash that may not be fatal at 50, may be at 70. I don't really feel comfortable with a speed limit at 70 either because of people's terrible driving skill, modern distractions with infotainment and phones, and lack of road-worthiness of some vehicles on the road.

You seem like an impatient person if you really want to arrive at your destination 5-10 minutes faster at a higher risk and increased fuel consumed. Its funny seeing people speed past me on the highway into town where I live. Because there is a stop light right when you hit town thats red for about 1.5-3 minutes. A lot of the time I meet the person that sped past me at that light. Makes me warm and fuzzy inside when I smile at them.

I dont care about speed, I will put my truck on cruise control right on the speed limit and drive in the left lane. If someone tailgates me, then I slow down or maybe I saw something and slammed on my brakes.

This is the opposite of a safe driver.

There are reasons why there are laws about hogging the left-most/passing lane.
