so my dad borrowed my car yesterday and i told him to cover it when he parks it. Just looked out the window from my room and i can tell it isn't covered. 

 

should I?

 

a. yell at him for it

b. just shrug it off and go cover it

c. something else? lol

i'd pick option b. he's probably just busy and forgot to do it. but, if you haven't done so, don't cover it, and wash it first, if it's dirty.

Until recently, no, there is no difference. Unless you've modified your car to make more power, just run the fuel that is recommended. Otherwise you are literally throwing money away. The engineers design the engine to run efficiently and effectively on a specific fuel grade. Running a higher than recommended octane only makes it harder for the engine to ignite it which can actually cause loss of power and reduced fuel economy as well as a number of other issues long term due to incomplete burn. The differences are not drastic, but they are there.

 

Why did I say "until recently"? Because some manufacturers for a few years now have been producing design engines that actually can run on multiple grades. They can detect and adjust the tuning (fuel maps etc.) according to the fuel you're using. Mostly factory turbo engines as they can easily adjust the amount of boost to compensate.

Oh, i though he put gas in a diesel generator because his descriprion says "4$ of gas" but anyways dosent lower compression just make it harder to start/run? I didnt think  it would nuke the engine.

The decompression valve is supposed to make it easier to start as it's easier to crank it over, but then you're supposed to close it again, once it's running. It was probably making it run super lean. ;)

if the livery wasn't on it, and it had some stock wheels, you wouldn't expect this to have 1000hp with twin turbos. sleeper status af.
