Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Man I should really stop reading threads in places like Bimmerpost and Bimmerforums, makes me feel ultra insecure about my F30 335i

Specialist forums does that to everyone xD

The 190 forum made a small speck of rust seem like the whole car was rotten  -_-

I cool with wagons making a return.

Not a fan. It would break on me.

You could do like someone I know and build an electric car with a manual. Its quite fun to ride in.

He build an electric car? with a manual? how did he manage that? how does it have gears?

This is the kind of engine i wanted to build for my (Now temporarily cancelled) 190E project.

I know that feeling .I did a quick sale on my m3 I was selling it for 4k and people were acting like it was utter garbage ,for having one spot of rust and flaking on the front number .the killer I was getting offers of 2k . you can't even get a trashed 97 325 with 200k mileage for 2k let alone a strong running m3 in pretty damn good condition.

Got a price estimate of a pair of new ones in that general size... I could buy a pretty nice apartment for that.. But it will be worth it!. In my mind

Yea but when the turbos finally spool up....

You would squeeze all that into a 190?

When those spool up you'd just see fire tracks and i would be in the future xD

There was plenty of room in the extended engine bay of my project 190^^ See concept in edited post above

its a conversion kit. Motor bolts to the original transmission. Its interesting though because the clutch is dead. When I see it next time I can try and get more info. All I remember is lots of batteries in a BMW. And lots of go.

Finally, now they can work on something a little bit more luxurious. Yes I did just say that.

Saving for a 1991-1995 plymouth voyager. I loved the 6G72 platform on those and I've never seen them fail. The only things that fail are the transmissions, because they're designed to at 100k or just over 100k. But rebuilds are super common, and I'm looking for the 3.0L platform. In my area, I only saw one 6G72-based model that needed a new head gasket all the rest are the clunk 3.3/3.8s that absorb gas and barely put out enough power to justify calling it an engine.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

My family used to have one of those. We had nothing but problems with it. Sure, the engine wont break, but everything else on the car will like the transmission, shocks, bearings, and many other things. Voyagers are a money pit and i would stay FAR away from them. If i where to pick a 90's van, it would be the gmc safari. It has a huge v6 that loves boost. Throw a vortech supercharger on the 4.3 liter v6 and you will be making a decent bit of horsepower.

Those things are pretty comfortable too. I had a friend whose parents had one, they're damn good to sit in.
