In defense of the Porsche driver here, that LMP1 came out of nowhere, on the outside. If I were the LMP1 driver, I would have lifted just for a moment, crossed over and passed on the inside line. But, this is racing, and things like this will happen. ;)

Anyone have any advice/experience regarding pickup trucks? In particular ones that can handle pulling several tons of stuff on a trailer?

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Yes, I've ridden in several. I'm only 5'9", so height isn't an issue. The Celica feels incredibly cramped though, even for me. I don't know what else I'd get if not a tC, because toyota and maybe honda are my only options as far as manufacturers go.

it should of just came factory turbo charged... even with the engine that is already in it.. who cares about another $2k on the price tag?

I second the EJ over the FA, but let's just take a step back and be glad it came with a Subaru powerplant in the first place and not a Toyota motor.

 

Although, the heat soak in the WRXs with the FA is pretty bad when driven hard.

It lacks power and doesn't dissipate heat well unless you start putting money into it. Also if you plan to shoot for more than 450 hp, you're going to struggle even with the proven bolt-on turbo kits on the market atm. Slightly harder to improve dollar-for-dollar over the EJ, but still makes for a fun car.

 

Come to think of it, I have yet to see a LS swapped Toyobaru. Seen plenty of MX5s and RX7s, but most ZC/ZN chassis owners have opted to keep the FA. Well, unless you're tracking it in which case there are two proven 2J swaps.

 

But to quench your thirst for knowledge, this is Pat Cyr's 2J FRS built for CSCS Drift, Formula Drift Canada, and select other events. His first iteration of the car was a turbo FA but he struggled to keep up with the competition, so he swapped in a 2J, which made 200 hp more than his old car. (think of him as the Canadian equivalent of Ryan Tuerck)

 

Also SpeedAcademy has a time-attack FRS, sponsored by Scion Canada. The base chassis used to be a drift car so they had to modify the roll cage to meet the appropriate safety regs that allowed them to run the Targa Newfoundland rally. Emphasis on good handling and moderate aerodynamics, they later added in the Jackson Racing supercharger and transformed the car again from tarmac rally car to traditional track-time attack.
