The dogs decided to go visit the neighbouring farm, so we had to do some off-road trekking in the Elantra to go get them. *Almost* got stuck... lol

 

TCS off and a whole lot of flooring. :P

15W40 for mine. With French onion soup. A whole lot of light errors popped up while I drove it to the WoF, they are fine just needs a clear though. Dumb French computer!

Speaking of oil weight, some retarded shop put 10w-30 in my Cummins. I about drive through their shop door. Needless to say I’ll be changing back to 15w-50 just in time For winter. Still need those all terrains though... ugh money

but for winter wouldn't you want a thinner oil so it's not as thick in cold weather and not as difficult to start? this is what i've always heard, this might've been a myth the whole time.

I don't think it's about difficulty starting as much as it is excessive wear because the oil is too thick to flow and lubricate well.

I mean yes, but not all 10w-30 is created equal, and Diesel engines love them some thick oil. It’s viscosity helps keep the engine healthy for longer, especially since diesels tend to dirty oil faster than gas. Also I doubt the oil they used was full synthetic.
